Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog

Hello crafty friends

New month and less than 6 months till Christmas.  How are you doing on being ready with your Christmas cards?  I am still very much behind, but I wanted to share a card I created recently.

Here is the card created.  I used mostly supplies and product from Lawn Fawn.

The card base is a piece of light blue cardstock from my stash and some pearly cardstock from my stash as well.

I then die cut the birdhouse pieces from the Build a Birdhouse die set from Lawn Fawn and the window from the Winter Wonderland Window die set from Lawn Fawn.  I colored the Christmas lights red and green with the Ohuhu markers.

I then colored the birds from the Winter Birds stamp set from Lawn Fawn using my Ohuhu markers.

To finish the card I stamped the sentiment from the Winter Birds set with Black ink on white card stock and added it to the card.

One more card completed.  Please leave me a comment and then share with us a new Christmas card you have created at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog

Love to Craft Challenge Blog- Anything goes

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is a new month and a new challenge at Love to Craft Challenge blog.  The challenge is always anything goes, we just want to see what you are creating.

I recently attended a retreat with crafty ladies.  We have been attending this retreat for 10 years, so the theme was decades.  We all swapped cards from different decades.  I knew immediately what stamp set I wanted to use, the Golden Age by Kindred Stamps and specifically Lucy.

Here is the card I created

I colored up the Lucy stamp with my Copics

Skin: E11, E21, E50

Hair: E18, E09, YR09

Dress/Shoes: B26, B23, B21

The tv die is from Kindred Stamps which I die cut from brown and grey cardstock.  The "picture" on the tv is an image of the logo from the show that I printed on my computer.

I die cut the red scalloped background from Waffle Flower and finished the card with jewels from Queen and Company,

I love the way the card came out and it was a hit at the retreat.

Please leave me a comment and then share one of your projects with us at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Mix it Up Challenge Blog- with a veggie stamping twist

Hello Crafty Friends,

This month's challenge over at the Mix it Up Challenge Blog was a new one for me. I have never tried stamping with a vegetable.  Unfortunately, I only had baby carrots in my refrigerator, so that is what I used,

I started out with a white piece of cardstock.  I then blended three colors from Taylored Expression inks: Blueberry, Cotton Candy and Gumball.

I then used Versafine Clair and the three different sizes and colors of carrots to create the polka dots on the background.

After I made the background, here is the card I created.

I stamped the sentiment from Photo Play on white cardstock and cut the end into a point.  I then die cute the word awesome form the same set using black and white cardstock.   To finish the card, I matted the card front to a piece of black cardstock.

I think I see more vegetable stamping in my future.  This is definitely a technique I want to t5y again and see what backgrounds I can create.

Now it is your turn.  Please leave me a comment and then create a card and try veggie stamping and then share your creation at Mix it Up Challenge Blog

Crafty Gals Corner- Challenge # 256- Anything goes with a Fancy Fold Twist

Hello Crafty Friends,

Can you believe it is June already?  Today is my last day of work for the summer and I am so excited.  Only a few more hours and then it is all about crafting and relaxing this summer.

This month's challenge at Crafty Gals Corner is Anything Goes with a Fancy Fold twist.  Since I plan to use this card as a birthday card for my brother, I did not do the fancy fold technique.

I chose this awesome Beryl the Biker from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps for this month's challenge and perfect for my brother for his birthday.

Here is the card I created with this awesome digi.

I tried something a little different this time and used  Triblend markers to color the image.

Bike Metal, Tire, Jacket and Helmet: Ice Grey Blend

Skin: Fair Skin Blend

Pants: Twilight Sky Blend

Scarf: Burnt Orange Blend

Hair: Earth Brown Blend

Lights: Sand Blend

I fussy cut the image out and placed it on the card base using foam squares.  I used pattern paper from my stash to create the card base.  I then added some screw brads to the card panel for more interest.  To finish the card, I added the sentiment strip from Taylored Expressions- Simple Strips Birthday.

Now it is your turn.  Leave me a comment and then create a fun fold or fancy fold card and share it with us at Crafty Gals Corner.

Crafty Gals Corner- Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

New month means a new challenge over at Crafty Gals Corner.   I am so anxious to share with you the image and card I created for this month's challenge.

The digital stamp comes from Moondrea Designs entitled Gina Antoinette.

Here is the card I created using this super cute digi stamp.

I colored the image with my Copic Markers:

Hair: E37, E97, E31

Skin: E11, E21, E51, E50

Dress: BG09, BG07, BG02, BG000

Leaves: YG61, G21, G12

Flowers and Cupcake: RV95, RV11, RV00

Eyes: BG93, BG96, BG99

When I first colored the eyes, they were very dark, so I did take a little of the Colorless Blender and lighten them.  The really did lighten up after awhile.

I created the card base from pattern paper from Authentique's Classique: Elegant collection and some lace from my stash.

I finished the card with some pearls from Pink and Main and a sentiment strip from Taylored Expressions.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment and then share your project with us at Crafty Gals Corner Challenge Blog.

Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog

Hello Crafty Friends,

New month and a new Christmas card to share.  I created this card for a swap I was a part of and ended up making 12 of these.  Lots of work, but so worth it.

This card was created with the Spellbinders "Winter Label Motif" die set.  I cut each piece out using paper in my stash and layered them up.

The card base was created using an embossing folder from Stampin Up.  I then used some teal paper and a white grosgrain ribbon to create the bow.

Not a lot of instructions, but a stunning card if I might say.

Now, it is your turn, create a Christmas card and join us for the challenge at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog.  Also, don't forget to leave me a comment.

Mix it Up Challenge Blog- Inlaid Die Cut Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Mix it Up Challenge blog and when I heard the theme, I knew exactly what die I wanted to use.  The challenge this month is Inlaid Die Cut either raised of flat.  I pulled out this old die set from Fun Stampers Journey and went to work.

Yes, this card too some time, but the results are stunning and the recipient will appreciate it.

Here is how I created this card.  I first cut the card front pieces in grey, blue, green and pink. I added sticker paper to each one. I then die cut the card front piece 4 times.  Then the fun began.

I took the grey piece and attached it to a piece of copier paper. I then took the pieces from the other card fronts and laid them into where the color should be.  Each individual piece.  I love the way it turned out.

I finished the card by adding a label die cut with my sentiment on it with a strip of white cardstock underneath to the card front.

Thank you for stopping by. Please join the challenge st Mix it Up Challenge Blog and leave me a comment as well.
