CYCI# 131 Color Challenge

Hello fellow card makers!  Today is another challenge at Can You Case It?  It is a color challenge.
http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=3313

When I saw these colors, I thought bees!  Here is the card I created.

The card base is Whip Cream and River Stone Cardstock.  On the top layer of Whip Cream Cardstock, I stamped the Honeycomb ATS with Pineapple Smoothie ink.  I then took the River Stone inkpad and distressed the edges before adhering it to the River Stone Cardstock.
I tied a Black Gingham Ribbon bow on top and stamped the sentiment from Hello Lovely in Black Licorice ink.  I added a Black Licorice Twine bow and tied on the Black and White button to the top.
I then stamped the bees from the Hello Lovely stamp set on Lemon Drop Cardstock with Black Licorice ink.
To finish the card, I detail cut the bees, adhered them with foam squares and added a layer of Journey Glaze.
I hope you will join in the challenge with us at Can You Case It?  Sign up on our website to get the challenges to your email, so you don't miss a challenge.  Also, follow us on Facebook!  Join the fun!

Adventure Awaits

Today I get to spend some time on a train.  I have never been on a train, so I am ready for the adventure.  I created this card in preparation for our trip.
The base of the card is Butter Cream Cardstock.  I took the Ink Splat ATS stamp and and stamped a line of the stamp in Beach Breeze ink.  I then took some Cool Pool Silk and splattered it over the ink.
Next, I die cut with the Border Basics Die, the zigzag die and Cocoa Powder Cardstock.  I used Cocoa Powder ink, direct to paper, to add texture to the "riverbanks".  I then trimmed the pieces and added them to the card using foam squares.
I stamped the kayak from the Adventure Awaits set with Black Licorice ink on Butter Cream Cardstock.  I then took Summer Days ink and went direct to paper to color in the kayak.  I detail cut the kayak out and added it to the card.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment from Adventure Awaits in Cocoa Powder ink on Butter Cream Cardstock and distressed the piece with Cocoa Powder ink.  Enjoy!

Faith Friday #2

Today is Faith Friday and that means I have another Faith based project to share.
For a few months I have been researching the whole idea of Bible Journaling.  I knew I didn't want to do this type of artwork in my regular, everyday study Bible, so I started researching Bibles.  I looked at Bibles online and decided which type I would need.  I then bought my first journaling Bible.
With all that said, I finally bought the Bible and was ready to get started.  Not quite yet!  Something held me back from actually putting ink on to the pages.
I then attended the Fun Stampers Journey Convention and I knew why I had not started yet.  Little did I know that the things that Richard had put in the brand new Inspiration Book and Catalog was exactly what I needed.
So, a few weeks later, I have my first Bible Journaling page done.  Using my absolute favorite set of stamps and PanPastels, I created a work of art.  I am so in love with the way it turned out.  Here it is:
So I used the four sets from the Slice of Life Collection and Black Licorice ink to stamp the fruit.  I then used the masking technique to get the fruit to look like they were behind and in front of each other.    I used the PanPastels in the Rich Sorbet pallette to create the blue background.  I used a combination of colored pencils and PanPastels to color the fruit.
Here is a closer look at what the fruit looks like:
Lastly, I wrote in the Fruits of the Spirit, one on each piece of fruit.
I have lots of ideas in my head, so please check back next Friday for another Faith based piece.  Enjoy!

Enjoy the Journey

Today, I want to share a very simple and easy card with you.  Sometimes simple is what you need or even what you want.  Here is the card I created.
The base of the card is Butter Cream Cardstock.  I then stamped the Ink Splat ATS with Cool Pool ink on the base towards the one side.  I then die cut an Treat Label from Pool Play Cardstock, adhered it to the side of the card and cut the access off.
Next, I tied a Cool Pool Satin Ribbon into a knot on the card and added a piece of the Journey Thread Gold around the knot and into a bow.
I then stamped the tree from Nature Trees on Butter Cream Cardstock with Hazelnut Blend ink.  I then stamped on top of it, one of the circle backgrounds included in the same set, in Cool Pool ink.  I detail cut the tree out and added it the card with foam squares.
Next, I stamped the sentiment, from the Happy Sentiments set, in Hazelnut Blend ink also.
To finish the card, I added some Rainbow Drops.  Enjoy!

CYCI # 129 Color Challenge

Welcome friends.  I had so much fun with the colors for the Can You Case It? Color Challenge, I thought I would create another.
Can You Case It? is a website where you can join in on the challenges.  I loved the colors this week:
http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=3309
Here is the card I created using those colors:
The card base is Whip Cream Cardstock.  I then die cut a Journey Circle from a piece of scrap cardstock and using post it notes, I anchored it to my card.  I then used the Rich Sorbet PanPastels in the pink and blue and rubbed them into the circle area on the card, blending them together in the middle.
On a separate piece of Whip Cream Cardstock, I stamped the mountains from the Climbing Mountains set, with Black Licorice ink.  I then detail cut the mountains out and attached them to the card using foam squares.
I then stamped the sentiment, "Climb mountains, hike forward & push yourself" from the Climbing Mountains set in Denim Days ink on Whip Cream Cardstock.  I then matted the sentiment on Denim Days Cardstock and adhered it to the card.
To finish the card, I added some Rhinestones to the sky.  Enjoy!
I hope you will come and join the challenge at Can You Case it?.  Make sure to follow the website to be updated on future challenges.  Also, like us on Facebook.

I added the two layers to the card and tied a Cool Pool Satin Ribbon Bow around the card.  I then tied a Holiday Cord bow on top.
The Christmas Tree is from the new Christmas Trim ATS from the Holiday Catalog.  I stamped it on Whip Cream Cardstock with Black Licorice ink.  I then colored some of the "ornaments" with Cranberry Bliss Silk and Rhinestones.
I added the tree to the card using foam squares.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Trim, with Cranberry Bliss ink on Whip Cream Cardstock.  I  distress the edges with the scissors, then took some more of the Silver PanPastel to the top of this piece.  I adhered this piece to the card using the Journey Stapler.  Enjoy!
