Bringing Paper to Life

Image may contain: text

Welcome to the Journey Blog Hoppers Hop! We will be Bringing Paper to Life with our 2017-2018 Idea Book & Catalog Release Theme!  I'm so happy you're hoppin' along.
If you have arrived here from Sharon’s blog, you're on the right track.  If not, that's ok too! Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!

I absolutely love the details on our NEW Mystic Romance Collection.  Richard tried to duplicate the details of an embroidered image.  I think he hit the ball out of the park with this one.
I couldn't wait to play with this paper.  Here is the card I created:

To create this card, I used the Beach Towel Embossing Folder to add texture to the piece of Cranberry Bliss Cardstock I used as the base for my card.  I then added a strip of the black pattern paper from the Mystic Romance Prints down the middle and Silver Sparkle tape along the sides.  I splattered a little bit of Silver Silk on the base of the card for more texture.

For the flowers, I stamped the Embroidered Rose with Cranberry Bliss ink and Fresh Forest ink on Whip Cream Cardstock.  There is a die to match, so I die cut each of the pieces out using the Embroidered Rose Die.

Richard even included a sentiment stamp set , "Embroidered Greetings" which also has the detail of stitching.  I stamped the sentiment with Black Licorice ink on Whip Cream Cardstock and detail cut it out.  I added this to the top of a Journey Circle cut from Whip Cream Cardstock.

I had so much fun creating this card, I decided to create a two page spread for my Journey Album.

Thank you from stopping by today.  Please be sure to head over to Heather’s blog next.

Happy 4th of July!

Hello Crafty Friends!
I hope you are having an awesome 4th of July!
Just wanted to stop in and share a card I created for today.

To create the background on the circle sentiment, this is what I did:
First, I put ink from my Candy Apple stamp pad onto my clear block.

Next, sprayed some water onto the clear block.

Then, I took another clear block and picked up the ink.

Lastly, I stamped with the clear block onto my Whip Cream Cardstock.

I then stamped my sentiment on top.

Have an amazing fourth, whatever you are doing today!  Stay safe also!
Supplies Used:
Stamp: Old Glory, Annual Celebration
Paper: Whip Cream Cardstock, Huckleberry Fusion Cardstock, Mirror Silver
Ink: Candy Apple, Huckleberry Fusion
Silk: Silver, Sparkle
Accessories: Black Licorice Twine, Licorice Sparkle Tape
