Boys Birthday Card

Today I want to share a little boy's birthday card.  I love this stamp.  It screams boy to me.  So it was fitting to make a birthday card for a little boy using this stamp.  The card sketch I used was from Mojo Monday #MOJO384

Masculine Birthday Card

Today's birthday card is for the man in your life.  To me a pair of cowboy boots is a "manly" man's choice of shoes.  I love me some cowboys also!
I distressed the strip of Oatmeal Cookie cardstock and Buttercream.  I inked the sides of the Buttercream with Hazelnut Blend.  I added Journey Glaze to the straps around the ankles of the boots and the strip of leather at the top!  Enjoy!

Easter ATC Swap

This month's ATC swap was Easter.  I knew I wanted to use this bunny from Fun Stampers Journey ( AT-0053 Easter Bunny).
I used Fun Stampers Cardstock in Whip Cream and Oatmeal Cookie.  The jellybean pattern paper is Doodlebug Designs (One of my favorite paper companies).  I stamped the bunny in Hazelnut Blend Ink (IP-0012) and then colored the bunny with Copic E57 to make it look like a chocolate bunny.  The ribbon, I picked up many years ago, so I don't know exactly where that came from.  The flower is a paper flower.  Enjoy!

Altered Clipboard

Today's project was a fun project.  I participated in a swap where we needed to take a clipboard and alter it.  My friend, Cheryl, is the name that I got.  She loves anything vintage, shabby chic and the like.  Here is what I made:
I bought a wooden clipboard at Staples as the base.  I then took one inch stripes of two types of paper and glued them to the front clipboard, staggering them.  I then wrapped the strip of papers to the back and covered the whole back of the clipboard with another piece of paper.  I learned this technique at a Scrapbook Expo, many years ago and loves it.
I finished the clipboard by adding lots of flowers, a doily and butterflies.  The little pearl heart embellishments that I added to the corner, I don't even know where they came from, but I thought that they were perfect for this project.
Here is a close up of the bottom left hand corner.  Enjoy!

All about Girlfriends

This past weekend I participated in a Card Camp.  The theme was "All about Girlfriends".  I knew exactly what stamp set I wanted to use, Birthday Girls.  This stamp set was a part of our Kit of the Month for October.  It is now available for purchase through our website.
I thought that this girl was a great image to use on a card all about girlfriends.  The saying really sets the whole card off.  What do you think?  Do girls, just want to have fun?
All supplies from Fun Stampers Journey, except the jellybellies and flower.  You can purchase all FSJ product at www.funstampersjourney.com/21

March Tag using Julie Nutting Doll

This was a tag I made for me secret friend, to be displayed during the month of March.  I know it's not very "March", but I really loved this paper, the glittered butterflies and the color combinations.  Enjoy!

Julie Nutting Doll Bonus Challenge

As a bonus challenge at Mema's Crafts, we were asked to paper piece a Julie Nutting doll.  The only requirements were to paper piece the doll.  I have done this many times, which if you go back and see my past posts, and there will be future ones, I am pretty familiar with paper piecing.  I love to paper piece the dolls and wouldn't think to do them any other way.
Here is the doll "Betty" I was given to work with.  (I was excited to receive her because I didn't have her.)

I used her as the embellishment for a gift bag that I can use to give a gift for a friend.  I used my favorite paper line, My Mind's Eye- Lost and Found for her dress.  I used some Michael's paper for the background, lace, paper flowers, pearls and Natural Journey Twine to finish off the bag.
Here is a close up picture of just the doll.

If you like this project, please vote for me at www.http://memascrafts.blogspot.com/p/bonus-challenge.html  Enjoy!
