Can You Case It? #135

Hello Crafty friends!  Today we have a fun challenge at Can You Case It?  Show us your school pride.
http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=3321

When I think of Back to school and getting ready for school again, I think of all the inspirational quotes I could give to my students.  I like to use this quote because the kids can imagine it; Reach for the Stars".

The base of the card is Beach Breeze Cardstock with a layer of Huckleberry Fusion Cardstock.  I then took a layer of Whip Cream cardstock and stamped the Ink Splat ATS twice across the front with Beach Breeze ink.  Then, I stamped the sentiment from Word Block in Huckleberry Fusion ink.  Next, I splattered Silver Silk all over the card.
I wrapped a piece of Beach Ball Satin Ribbon and Tinsel Trim around the card.
I then stamped the stars from Star Bright on Whip Cream Cardstock with Huckleberry Fusion and Lemon Drop Ink.  I detail cut the stars and added them to the card using foam squares and glue.
Next, I took two stars from the Amazing Accents, added a layer of Silver Silk and used glue to attach them to the card.
To finish the card, I added some Journey Glaze and Journey Sparkle Dust to a few stars.  Enjoy!

Faith Friday 8/26/16

Today, I have another Faith inspired project to share.

I stamped the mountains from Climbing Mountains with Black Licorice ink.  I then used the Rich Sorbet PanPastels to color in the purple mountains, sitting on green grass and clouds with a touch of blue.  I then added with the own writing in black pen, the words the mountains.
The verse is Isaiah 54:10 that talks about the love of God being steadfast.  The mountains may depart, but God's love for you and me will never change!  Isn't that great?!

One of my favorite outdoor activities is to hike.  I just love to be outside and in nature.  I love to explore new places also.  I thought the sentiment was perfect.
I used Pool Play Cardstock for the base of my card.  The first layer is Kiwi Slice Cardstock and I added texture by going direct to paper with Kiwi Slice ink.
I then die cut a Journey Circle from Whip Cream Cardstock and took the Rich Sorbet PanPastels and used the Denim Days color to make the soft blue background.  I adhered this piece to the card using foam squares on only half.
Next, I stamped the backpack and boots from the Adventure Awaits set in Cocoa Powder ink on Oatmeal Cookie Cardstock.  I detail cut these out, colored a few pieces with colored pencils and added Gold Silk to the boot eyelets.  I add these pieces with foam squares.
I then stamped the sentiment from Adventure Awaits on a Whip Cream Cardstock Journey Circle with the piercing elements.
To finish the card, I added some Journey Natural Twine, the arrow die from Border Details in Black Licorice Cardstock with Journey Glaze and some Rainbow Drops.  Enjoy!

CYCI#134 Pet Sketch Challenge

Today we have another challenge at Can You Case It?   It is a pet challenge, so get those cat and dog stamps out and join us this week.
http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=3319
Here is the card I created:

The base of the card is Oatmeal Cookie and Black Licorice Cardstock.  On the top layer of Oatmeal Cookie Cardstock, I created my own pattern paper using the paw print stamp from Cats and Dogs and Black Licorice Ink.

To make the paws a little lighter, I first inked up the stamp and stamped once on the clear block and then onto my paper.
I then added a strip of Black Licorice Cardstock to the top.  I stamped the dog from the Cats and Dogs set with Dark Roast ink on Butter Cream Cardstock.  I colored the dog using the Rich Sorbet PanPastels.
Next, I stamped with Clear Pigment ink the word "woof" from the Cats and Dogs set onto Black Licorice Cardstock and heat embossed it with Journey White Embossing Powder.  I then cut them out on an angle and used foam squares to adhere them to the card.
To finish the card, I wrapped some Black Licorice Twine around the card and tied a bow.  It is had to tell from the picture, but I also added some Journey Glaze to the eyes.
I hope you will plan to join us this week and show us your loving pets.  Enjoy!

I then used the Summer Days PanPastels from the Rich Sorbet PanPastel palette to color the light bulb and "shine" the light over the page.
I used a colored pencil to color in the cord.  I then added some Silver Silk to the filigree and the top of the bulb.  Enjoy!

http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=3317
When I saw these colors, I knew I wanted to create a card with a yellow flower.  I turned to my favorite flower from Fun Stampers Journey, Dahlia Burst!
The base of the card is Butter Cream Cardstock.  I then stamped with Sweet Pear ink the Brush Strokes to the base.  I then stamped the Dahlia Burst with Clear Pigment ink on Butter Cream cardstock.  Then, I took the Rich Sorbet PanPastels and using the Summer Days color, I rubbed colors over the top of the stamped image.  I fussy cut these pieces out and set them to the side.
Next, I took the Summer Branch and die cut two from Limade Splash and Kiwi Slice Cardstock.
I then glued the leaves to the card base and used foam squares to add the flower.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment from Banner Wishes in Kiwi Slice ink and added some Journey Glaze to the leaves.  Enjoy!

Faith Friday #5

I'm so glad you stopped by today.  On Friday's I share a faith based project.  Today I have a card I created for a friend that is going through some life issues.  Here is what I created:
The card base is made from Bubble Gum Cardstock.  I then cut a piece of Summer Romance Pattern Paper in a 4 X 4 square that I rounded the corners on one side.  I wrapped a piece of Vintage Lace around this piece and adhered the piece to the card with foam squares.
I then stamped the verse from the  Through the Storm set with River Stone Ink on Cool Pool Cardstock that I cut from Journey Ovals Die.  I adhered this piece to the card using foam squares.
I then added a piece of Cool Pool Ribbon that I put a knot in.  I wrapped a piece of Whip Cream Thread around the knot and tied in a bow.  I adhered the bow to the card with Journey Glue Dots.
To finish the card, I added a few of Spring Bloom Minis cut from  Bubble Gum Cardstock and Journey Sequins Bloom Time to the middle and a few on the left hand side.  Enjoy!

I love the simplicity of the layout and thought it would make a great wedding card.  Here is the card I created:
The base of the card is Grape Fusion Cardstock.  I then cut a piece of Summer Romance Pattern Paper for the one side.  The little banner at the top is Cool Pool Cardstock.
The sentiment is from Howdy Notes, stamped on Butter Cream Cardstock with Rock Candy Ink.  I also distressed the outside of the piece with Rock Candy Ink, very lightly.
I then took a small heart from Amazing Accents.  I colored the heart with Grape Fusion ink, added a layer of Journey Glaze and a sprinkle of Journey Sparkle Dust.
To finish the card, I added the Whip Cream Thread around the card and added the heart to the top.  Enjoy!

Faith Friday #4

Hello crafters!  Today is another faith project.  Today I have a fun little project for you.  It is a reminder that God is the light and there is no darkness with Him in your life.  Here is the card:
The card base is Butter Cream Cardstock, with layers of Black Licorice, River Stone and Lemon Drop Cardstock.
I then cut a top layer and stamped the light shining rays from the Delightful Light stamp set with Rock Candy Ink and the verse from the God is Light stamp set in Black Licorice ink.   I then stamped the light bulb from the same set, on a piece of Butter Cream Cardstock and a piece of River Stone Cardstock.
Before I cut the light bulb out, I used the Summer Days PanPastel from the Rich Sorbet PanPastel collection.  I started dark in the middle and worked the PanPastel out to create the lighter color towards the outside.  I did this same technique on the larger layer with the verse.  I added a little color to the edge of the card for texture.
Next, I used foam squares to add the panel to my card.  Then, I detail cut the light bulb and the River Stone piece and adhered them together.
Before placing the bulb on the card, I took some Black Licorice Twine and added the cord to the top and wrapped it around the layer.  Then I placed the bulb on the card with foam squares.
To finish the card, I added a layer of Journey Glaze to the light bulb for a glass look.  Enjoy!

Fun Spinner Card

Hello fellow papercrafters.  Today I want to share with you a spinner card I taught at my last card class.  I love the way it turned out.
The base of the card is Kiwi Slice Cardstock.  I then cut a layer of Kiwi Slice cardstock, which is the layer I did my cutting into.
I created a "trench in the middle of the layer with a razor blade.
Next, I cut two strips of Slice of Life Pattern Paper and adhered them to the layer.
I then made a "sandwich" with one penny, a foam square (which I cut into a circle) and another penny.  I threaded the penny "sandwich into the "trench" and then added foam squares to the back of the layer and adhered it to the card base.
I then stamped the watermelon from the Let's Twist stamp set.  I stamped it three times with Black Licorice ink on Watermelon Fusion, Limeade Splash and Kiwi Slice Cardstock.  I paper pieced these together, added a layer of Journey Glaze and Journey Sparkle Dust.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment from Let's Twist stamp set with Watermelon Fusion ink on Butter Cream Cardstock.  I cut one end into a banner and adhered it to the card.  Enjoy!

Hiking is good for your health

Today, I have a nature inspired card.  Here in Southern California, we are fortunate to have some wonderful mountains.   I love to drive around my city, especially when there are snow covered mountains.  Today's card reminds me of this time.
The base of the card is Cocoa Powder Cardstock.  I then took a piece of Summer Romance Pattern Paper to make the sky.  I stamped the sentiment from the Climbing Mountains with Black Licorice ink in the top right corner.
Next, I stamped the different mountains with Black Licorice ink on Oatmeal Cookie, Cocoa Powder and Whip Cream Cardstock.  I detail cut each mountain and snow.  I then paper pieced them back together.  I then staggered them on the card, adhering them with foam squares for depth.
I then took a piece of Limeade Splash and Kiwi Slice Cardstock to make the grassy area in front of the mountains.
To finish the card, I added Journey Sparkle Dust and Journey Glaze to the top of the mountains and added a Lemon Grass Thread bow to the card.  Enjoy!
