Crafty Gals Corner Challenge 3+ layers

Hello Crafty Friends,

I can not believe that it is the last day of July.  My summer break is almost over.  I have to admit that I have had a great summer, but I am so not ready to go back to work.

Today we have a new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner.  The challenge is to use 3 or more layers on your card.

The card I created for the challenge I got to use a cute little image from Morgan's Art World.

When I saw this image I knew I had to color her as Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
I colored her up with Copics and added some Stickles to her crown and the heart on her dress.

I layered glitter cardstock and white cardstock to create the card.

Adding a bow and some pearls finished off the card.

I hope you will join in on the challenge with us.  Just click here.

A Special Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have a very special birthday card to share with you today.    I made this card from my brother for his birthday because he loves this show.

I used Fun Stampers Journey cardstock and colored the images with my Copics.  I printed the company logo off the computer.
The stamp set is Scranton, PA by Kindred Stamps.

P.S He loved it!  Which I knew he would.

Blue Balloon Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a rather easy card to share with you.

I took a piece of Balloon paper from a pack of Fun Stampers Journey and cut a circle in the bottom corner of the paper.  I then stamped the sentiment from Inside Out stamp set onto a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock and placed it behind the opening.
I finished the card by adding some Sparkle Silk to the card.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey and can be purchased here.

Lighthouse Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are having a great day.

Today, I want to share with you a card I created for my card classes this month.

The technique was instead of layering the middle ovals, we cut into each layer.  The Pineapple Smoothie layer is the top layer and the Buttercream layer with the lighthouse is the bottom layer.

I then stamped the shells on Peaches and Cream and Buttercream and used a sponge to daub some Hazelnut Blend onto the shells.
The leaves are the Detailed Foliage Die, which I cut from Lemon Grass Cardstock and cut each of the branches off and placed them throughout.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey and can be purchased here.

Picture Changer Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are doing well today and are surviving the weird weather we are having all over right now.  Thank goodness for air conditioning here in Southern California.

Today, I want to share with you a new die I bought that I had been watching on Pinterest and Facebook for a while now and finally got my hands on.

It is the Picture Changer die from Lawn Fawn.

This is the card when you first look at it.
Then you pull the tab at the top and you get the following:

It is an interactive card, so the recipient will have fun playing with it.  I had fun making it also.

Elvis Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a card that I created for a dear friend who loves Elvis.

I had a challenge here, because I needed to make this a one layer card.

I first die cut a star from Stardom die set with scrap paper.  I attached this to the card with removable tape.  I then inked up the background stamp from Fun Stampers Journey, Vintage Music and Black Licorice ink.  I stamped this on an angle.  When I pulled up the star, I had the perfect area to stamp "The King".
I stamped the Elvis image from The Golden Years set from Kindred Stamps.  I then colored him with my Copics.
The recipient loved the card, and that is why I create my cards.

I then cut the pattern paper to fit the triangle areas.

I used Pool Play cardstock for the center part.

All images are from Lawn Fawn.
Colored with Fun Stampers Journey Color Burst pencils.

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have a simple card with you today.

You start with a piece of Rich Coral cardstock that is 11 x 4 1/4.  First you fold the cardstock in half and then you take the top fold and fold it in half.

I then added a piece of Pineapple Smoothie layer to inside of the card.  Next, I added a piece of pattern paper from Playful Prints to one side.  I then added a piece of the same pattern paper to the front flap.
Next, I stamped the sentiment, Make a Wish ATS on a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock with Catalina Splash ink and matted the piece with Pineapple Smoothie Cardstock.  I adhered this to the front flap.
To finish the card, I made my own glitter paper by placing a layer of White Liner sheet on a piece of Catalina Splash cardstock.  Then, I die cut the star out with the Stardom Die set.  Once it is cut out, I removed the top layer of the white liner sheet and sprinkled the piece with Journey Sparkle Dust.

I hope you will try making your own Glitter Paper.
All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey and can be purchased here.

The adventure I documented was a small part of our trip to San Diego last summer.

When I was little, I would spend a week in San Diego and my grandma and I would spend hours looking for shells on the shore.  I wanted to do the same thing with the kids, so we did.  We did not find a lot of shells, and we got eaten by bugs, but it was still a great adventure.
Here is a detail picture of the shells I added to the layout as embellishments that I cut with my Cricut and Life's a Beach cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Be sure to hop over to my friend Narelle's Blog.

Here's our line up in case you get lost along the way.

7/11/19

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope your July is going well.  I am loving having some days off to relax and get my craft on.

Once a month, I host a crop here at my house and we have a theme which helps us to pick the food, swaps and decor.  Last month we had a circus theme and here is the card I created.

I used my cricut to cut out the elephant and peanut.  I then anchored them on the card with a circle behind them.  I stamped the sentiment "Smile" from the Escape the Ordinary stamp set with Black Licorice ink.

The pattern paper was from my stash and the cardstock is from Fun Stampers Journey.

You can purchase the Fun Stampers Journey product here.

7/9/19

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have been having a great summer so far.  Getting lots of time to read, rest and craft.

Here is a card I created for my classes.

The technique I showed my students on this card was making a more textured background with an embossing folder.  If you spray your paper with water, just to wet it, do not saturate, and then emboss it, the design comes out more defined.

I used all Fun Stampers Journey products and can be purchased here.
Cardstock: Limeade Splash, Butter Cream, Fresh Forest, Orange Creamcicle, Pineapple Smoothie and Kiwi Slice
Dies: Journey Ovals, Blooming Details
Sentiment: Everyday Script
Ink: Kiwi Slice

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we start a new month and a new challenge over at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.   The theme for this month and every month is Anything Goes.

The card I would like to share with you this month is a new technique I learned from Jennifer McGuire; the floating frame technique.

This proved to be a fun technique and another example of crafters using products outside our world; Press and Seal.   Here is the video from Jennifer.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey and can be purchased here.
