Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #279 Anything Goes with a twist- Summer Vibes

Hello Crafty Friends,

Summer is coming to end.  This can be a good thing if you are like me and do not like the heat.  Or if you like the heat you may be a little sad.  Either way, we still have a few more weeks of summer and a few more weeks to craft those summer projects.

This month's theme is Anything Goes with a twist of summer vibes over at Crafty Gals Corner.  I invite you to create summer projects to celebrate the season a little while longer.

I created a sweet summer card using La La Land Stamp that I stamped awhile ago and is not available on the website anymore.

I colored this sweet image with my Copics:

Skin: E13, E11, E00, E000

Hair: E49, E47, E57

Flowers, Lips, Shirt and Anklets:  R85, R83, R81

Skirt: G99, G94, G24

Lei: E23

The card base is made from cardstock, pattern paper from Kindred Stamps.

I created the shape that she is standing on with a label die from Fun Stampers Journey, that I folded, to make a flap.

The sentiment was cut from cardstock using the die from Erin Lee Creative LLC.

I finished the card by adding some palm leaves I cut with my Cricut and added a Baker's Twine pink bow on the left side.

Aloha to me is summer.  Luaus and BBQ's and water are summer to me.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment and then join the challenge at Crafty Gals Corner.

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge # 278- Anything Goes with a Twist- Sweets for Dad

Hello Crafty Friends,

Summer is upon us and the weather to match is here in Southern California.  I am not a summer girl, but love the break from teaching.  I fill my summer days with relaxing, crafting and sleeping.  This summer will be no different.

Today we have a new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner- Anything goes with a twist- Sweets for Dad.  Summer always starts with celebrating our Father's and sweets for my dad is about all he wants.

Here is the card I created using a shaped die from Sizzix.

I first created the base of the donut using cardstock from my stash.  I layered the "frosting" on with dimension to build the layers up.  I then added sprinkles using Stickles in yellow, blue and green.  I then stamped and die cut the letters from the Outline Bet Die Set from Fun Stampers Journey on yellow cardstock.  I added these to the card using dimensions too.

The inside of the card, I added the sentiment from the Annual Celebration, also for Fun Stampers Journey.

I think my dad will love this card.   Now, we would love to see what you create.  Create a new project and maybe put the twist on it and then share it with us over at Crafty Gals Corner.

Also, please leave me a comment, letting me know your thoughts on my "paper" donut.

***Just as a reminder, the Crafty Gals Corner design team will be taking the month of July off, but we will be back with a new challenge in August.  Have a very crafty summer!

Gingerbreads: E09, E13

Mix It Up Challenge Blog- Challenge- Paper Piecing

Hello Crafty Friends,

Have you ever paper pieced an image before?  I loved creating those paper dolls from the Cricut cartrudge many years back, which I still have, to create cute little people.  Not quite the same thing, but so much fun. If you do, that is the challenge at Mix It Up Challenge Blog this month; Paper Piecing,

I used the birthday stamp from Simon Says stamps to paper piece the balloons for a cute birthday card.

Here is the card I created:

I stamped the image 3 times, 2 times on the card front and one time on a scrap piece of the same blue cardstock.  I then stamped the image several times on different colors of cardstock.  I then cut out each balloon and party popper with the color I wanted.  I glued all the pieces to the individual stamped image.  I then popped this image up on the card front.

To finish the card, I layered the card front on another piece of blue cardstock.  I also stamped the sentiment from Taylored Expressions in black ink at the top.

I hope you try paper piecing if you have never tried it.  Please leave me a comment and then join the challenge at Mix It Up Challenge Blog.

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #259- Anything Goes with a Twist- Add ribbon

 Hello Crafty Friends,

What a whirlwind start to September here in Southern California.  We are having a heat wave, there are fires all over the area and school is in full swing.  The season seems to be starting out on a quick pace, but I hope it slows down because this season is my favorite.

Time is going by so fast that my friends and I have not celebrated our August friends birthdays yet and it is already the middle of September.

The card I created for this new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner, will be used as a birthday card for one of my friends.

A note from Rachelle Anne Miller:
I am an artist & designer living in the beautiful Adelaide Hills in South Australia with my husband and three amazing children! I love to create and am especially drawn to all things cute. I've worked on children's books, greeting cards, craft supplies, children's room décor, tech accessories, and more. I love to bring out joy and imagination in my art and create something a little different to inspire and make you smile.

I used this adorable "Happy Birthday Character Creator Set" from RAM stamps.

I first colored the images with my Copics. (First set of numbers is for the girl in pink and the second set of numbers are for the girl in yellow)

Hair: E29, E08, E13 and E29, E25, E35

Skin: E43, E53, E50 and E13, E11, E21

Mix It Up Challenge Blog- Smooshing

Hello Crafty Friends,

September is here and I am holding on to the fun things about summer.  Today I have a card to share with you using our optional challenge- smooshing.

I created the background by adding some Taylored Exprssions Snow Cone and Cotton Candy ink to a laminated piece of paper.

I then took water and sprayed a little over the ink.

Then I took my cardstock and picked up the ink to create the sky.

Here is a look at the finished card.

I used the Lawn Fawn-Whoosh Kites set to create the card.

I also used the grass border die from Lawn Fawn.

I colored the mice and kite with my Copics.

Mice: T5, T3, T1, T0, E00, E000, E93

Kite: RV34, RV32, RV21

I had fun making this card.  I hope you like it too.  Please leave me a card and let me know.

Then create a card of your own and then share it with us over at Mix It Up Challenge Blog.

Love to Craft Challenge Blog- Anything goes

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is a new month and a new challenge at Love to Craft Challenge blog.  The challenge is always anything goes, we just want to see what you are creating.

I recently attended a retreat with crafty ladies.  We have been attending this retreat for 10 years, so the theme was decades.  We all swapped cards from different decades.  I knew immediately what stamp set I wanted to use, the Golden Age by Kindred Stamps and specifically Lucy.

Here is the card I created

I colored up the Lucy stamp with my Copics

Skin: E11, E21, E50

Hair: E18, E09, YR09

Dress/Shoes: B26, B23, B21

The tv die is from Kindred Stamps which I die cut from brown and grey cardstock.  The "picture" on the tv is an image of the logo from the show that I printed on my computer.

I die cut the red scalloped background from Waffle Flower and finished the card with jewels from Queen and Company,

I love the way the card came out and it was a hit at the retreat.

Please leave me a comment and then share one of your projects with us at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new challenge over at Crafty Gals Corner.  The theme is Halloween colors.  I loved coloring this cute "Witch's Brew" image from Leann's World 101

I have to admit that I had a little bit of trouble coloring this image.  Here is the image and card I created.

I actually colored this image up twice, because I could not figure out the ears. I surveyed my design teamies and we decided that the two things on her head under the hat were in fact ears.

I used the following Copics to color this cute cat in a witch's brew.
Skin: E11, E21, E51, E50
Hair: R59, YR27, TR23
Hat and Dress: BV08, V17, V15
Brew and Hearts: G24, YG03, YG11
Mug and Spoon: 100, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1
Paw print: YR16, YR14, YR09
Ears: R32, R22, YR09, YR16, YR14
Eyes: G28, G24, G20

This image challenged me with the ears and the eyes, but challenge accepted.  The card base was created with pattern paper from Simple Stories and purple glitter cardstock from Michaels.

Now leave me a comment and then share your Halloween projects over at Crafty Gals Corner with us.

Hello Crafty Friends,

I colored the image "Autumn Blessings" using my Copic Markers.

Sunflowers: E47, E44, E43, YR04, Y19, YG67, YG17

Milk Can: C7, C5, C3, C1

Love to Craft Challenge Blog

Hello Crafty Friends,

If you love to craft then this is the blog challenge for you.  Anything goes is the theme every month and the best part of the challenge is to see what everyone comes up with.

This month, I created a fun card that could be easily used as a Valentine's card as well.

I used a mustard colored cardstock to create the background and then cute from the same colored cardstock to cut out the hexagon background die.

I then stamped with black ink on white cardstock, the bees from Honey Bee stamps and detail cut them out and colored with markers.

I stamped the one set of wings for one bee on vellum and detail cut them out and added them.

The sentiment was die cut with a die from Photoplay.

To finish the card I added some Wink of Stella on the wings of the "white" wing bee.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment and then join the challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Working on cards all year long for Christmas is the best way to work to a goal.  This month I am sharing a shaped card that is always fun to create.

The base of the card and the shape is from a die from KS Crafts.  I cut it from a dark piece of green cardstock and matted the next size down from pattern paper from Echo Park.

From that same KS Crafts die, I cut the holly leaves from the same green paper and then cut the top of stocking from white glitter cardstock.

I then stamped the sentiment with green ink on white cardstock and used my fancy corner rounder to cut the corners.

To finish the card, I added a white layer inside of the card and red rhinestones to the holly leaves.

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave me a comment and then join us for the challenge at Merry Little Christmas Challenge
