Bitten By the Bug 2- Something New

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2.  It is to share something new.

Something new that I have wanted to try for some time is iron on vinyl.  So I worked with my mom the seamstress, and she created the sweet little jacket and I put the saying on it.

It is a cute little shirt for my furbaby.  Here she is wearing it.

I am addicted.  I love it.  I can see the ideas flowing in my brain now.
I got the image from Love SVG.   They have lots of free images.  Check it out.

You Stole My Heart!

Hello Crafty Friends,

Valentine's Day is not too far away so I have started thinking about cards to send.

Today,  I want to share a pretty simple card, but quite cute.

I used Doodlebug pattern paper to create the background.
I then die cut the heart from Heart-felt die set from Watermelon Fusion Cardstock and the Baby Envelope from Whip Cream Cardstock.
I used foam squares to attach the heart to the card.  I then added the envelope to the top of the heart.
I stamped the sentiment from Love Bandit stamp set with Black Licorice ink.
I finished the card by adding some red baker's twine in a bow to the left.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey, except the baker's twine.

Stampin Friends Blog Hop- Birthday Bash

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Birthday Bash. If you are following along the hop, you have arrived from Rachel's blog. Be sure to read through my blog, comment below and continue to Teri's blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each Blog.
Here are the projects I created for this month’s hop

I created the shaker part a little different.  I used tulle instead of acetate.  I have seen this technique, but had never tried it before.  You create the same "sandwich"; frame, acetate, foam tape, background piece; you just need to substitute the acetate for tulle.

I then used silk in Silver and Gold from Fun Stampers Journey to brighten the background, card layer.

I cut strips from pattern paper to create the flags on the front.  I then stamped the sentiment on to a star die cut.

The one thing I learned is that you can not use little "fillers" in the shaker card this way because they sneak out the holes in the tulle.

My project, is a sweet little triangular box I die cut with the free file from Dreaming Tree called Christmas Treats Gift box.  I used the same pattern paper I used for the background of the shaker area.

I then die cut a silver and a white star and stamped the matching sentiment on the star.   I tied a black licorice twine bow at the top of the box.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey, except the shaker filler.  The shaker filler came from Akron.
Don’t forget to go to the next hopper to continue hopping along

Kindred Stamps- Cute Kids

Hello Crafty Friends,

I wanted to share a card I created a long time ago, but did not share.  I created this for a swap and the card actually went to England.

I love these little cuties.
I created the card using one of the cards from the Simple Stories Say Cheese paper line as my background.  I then added some washi tape to the bottom and used baker's twine to tie a bow.   I added a little "Mickey" jewel in the corner.
I colored the cuties with my Copics.

Snow Globe Ornament

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I want to share an ornament I created for an ornament swap we had at my monthly crop.

The little jar ornament I found at Dollar tree, as well as the snow.
The little trees I found in the Dollar Spot bins at Target.
I then stamped the reindeer and snowman from the Winter Scene stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey.

To finish the ornament off, I added some snowflake ribbon to the bottom and a bow at the top and stamped the sentiment, Merry Christmas on the banner piece from the same stamp set, which I dies cut with the matching die.

I had fun creating this little ornament.  Stamping does not just have to be on a flat surface.  Think outside the box or in this case, the jar.

You make me smile

Hello Crafty Friends,

Wow, we are 10 days into the new year and I am already sick.  Can you believe it?   I am just glad that I am ahead of schedule with projects, etc.  Better to be ahead then to be scrambling at the last minute.  Something I try to stick to in the new year.

With that said, let me share a card I created for my card classes this month.

With winter in full effect in Southern California, I thought a polar bear was needed.

I stamped the bear from Hero Arts on a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock with Black Licorice ink.  I then matted the image and the blue pattern paper I had in my stash onto a piece of Chambray Shirt Cardstock.  I adhered the long strip to the card base after tying a white and silver twine around the piece.
I then adhered the polar bear piece to the card using foam squares.
Lastly, I sprinkled some Sparkle Silk over the whole card and added some Journey Glaze to the eyes of the bears.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey except the twine (Michael's) and the pattern paper.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Crafty Gals Corner- Challenge # 203 Winter Fun

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge over at Crafty Gals Corner.  I hope you will join us.  The challenge is Winter Fun.

I got to play with this fun digital stamp from The Paper Shelter.

I used my Copics to color the image:
Snow: B00, B000, B0000
Skin: E13, E11, E00
Jacket, Boots and Glasses: RV19, RV17, RV34
Pants and Board: BG18, BG15, BG13

I then used some pattern paper from Lawn Fawn to create the background.  I die cut the image with my Journey Circles from Fun Stampers Journey and adhered it to the card with foam squares.

I added a strip of glitter washi tape across the bottom and then tied a light blue Baker's Twine bow.

To finish the card, I added some snowflakes I cut with my Cricut and some Rainbow drops from Fun Stampers Journey.

Come join the fun and share your winter creations.  You can join us here.
