Two Valentine Challenges in One

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a new project to share with you that I have created for both the Love to Craft Challenge Blog and the Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge blog.

I have seen this Cricut idea on Facebook in a few of my different groups and I just had to try it.

It's a Valentine's Mandala.  I bought the cut file off Etsy and used cardstock and glitter cardstock to create the heart.  The heart is a total of 5 layers.

Here is a close up of the heart itself.

I then placed the heart on a piece of stripped glitter paper from Hobby Lobby and placed in a frame I brought at Dollar Tree.

A simple project, with most of the work being done by the Cricut, but what a striking piece of art.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Then, join the challenges at Bitten by the Bug 2 with a Valentine's theme or Love to Craft Challenge Blog with an Anything goes theme.

Hello Crafty Friends,

I want to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day!  It is a day full of love.  I have a special project to share with you.

I had one of those "I can make that much cheaper" thoughts the other day when I was in JoAnn's.  I found this cute little heart in the kids craft area.  I thought it was cute because of the slats.

I brought it home and used my Cricut to cut out the rolled roses from the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge with Candy Apple Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.  I then cut the word Love from Simple Sweet Cartridge out of Black Licorice Cardstock.

I put the flowers together with hot glue and used hot glue to attach them to the heart.  I then used white glue to attach the word love.

I love this little project.  Happy Valentine's Day!

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Cricut Kids Valentine's

Hello Crafty Friends,

I had so much fun making these Valentine's for kids.  A friend of mine wanted me to make Valentine's for her sons that did not involve candy.  I was looking in my Cricut group on Facebook and found this file someone created.

There were 3 different designs; an Owl, a dinosaur and a whale.   Each one was cute as you can see.
The Cricut first wrote the words, each being different and then it drew the animal.

Then the Cricut cut the whole thing out and then cut the little holders for the crayons.

Even though the person that created the file did all the hard work, I loved cutting them out, adding the crayons and seeing my friends face when she saw them.
Happy Valentine's Day.

Valentine Gatefold Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

Valentine is fast approaching and last month in my crop group we had a Valentine Card Swap.

I wanted an unique side to my card, so I created a simple styled gate fold card.

The card base is a piece of Sweet Berry Cardstock folded with the two pieces in the front.  I then covered the two "gate" pieces with the pattern paper from my stash.
I then die cut the Candy Apple, Sweet Berry and Bubble Gum hearts from the Heart-felt die set from Fun Stampers Journey.

The Candy Apple heart has a heart cut into it and this is where the gate fold "latch" comes in.    The Candy Apple heart is glued to the left side of the flaps and the Sweet Berry and Bubble Gum hearts and glued to the right side of the flaps.

I finished the card by adding the sweet hearts that die cut from Miss Kate's Cuttables and stamped the sentiment from Annual Celebration with Sweet Berry ink inside.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Happy Love Day

Hello Crafty Friends,

Do you have washi tape in your stash?  Do you hoard it like I do.  I have a card to share with you that I created using some of my stash.

I started by wrapping strips of washi tape around a piece of cardstock.  I then took another piece of cardstock and die cut the three hearts out of the card panel and embosses the layer with the I Heart Embossing Folder.
I stamped the sentiment from a stamp set from Spellbinders with Black Licorice ink and matted them on Rich Coral Cardstock.  I adhered these to the card with foam squares.
I then placed the card panel on a piece of Rich Coral Cardstock and then onto the Card base.

Cardstock, embossing folder, dies and ink is from Fun Stampers Journey.
Washi tape: my stash
Sentiment: Spellbinders

I then added the Gorjuss girl that I had colored up a while ago using my Copics.

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have another love card.  You could use it for Valentine's Day, or you could use it anytime actually.

To make the background, I first stamped the Fluttering Hearts Gel Impression Plate with Cranberry Bliss Ink on to Whip Cream Cardstock.  Then I stamped the Thread Sketch background stamp with Watermelon Fusion ink over the top of that.

I then die cut a heart from the Heart-felt Die set from Whip Cream cardstock.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Love Bandit stamp set and hearts from the same set in Cranberry Bliss ink and Black Licorice ink/
I then added some bigger hearts by stamping the black outlined heart from the Love Bandit set with Black Licorice ink on Watermelon Fusion cardstock and the solid heart with Watermelon Fusion ink on Whip Cream cardstock.

To finish the card, I splattered Sparkle Silk over the card.  I also added some to the Watermelon Fusion heart.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey and can be purchased here.

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Love Blog Hop

I hope you are having a great day.  Today we are hopping along with a love theme.  We hope you are inspired to create your own projects to celebrate your love.

I just love this Rose Swirl paper from the Through the Years Prints from Fun Stampers Journey.  Doesn't say love as well?

With a simple sentiment from the Annual Celebration stamp set in Sweet Berry Ink, it makes a lovely card.  The Special Day Organza Ribbon with the Love Bud Flower, the card is very elegant.

I loved the look so much that I translated this look onto a gift card holder.

I die cut the Gift Card Sleeve out of Watermelon Fusion Cardstock and using  the Layered Scallops Embossing Folder, created a background.  I hen layered the Through the Years Print over the top and tied a Special Days Organza Ribbon around.

I hope you enjoyed my projects! Don’t forget to leave me a comment to let me know how you liked my projects.
Please subscribe to my blog if you haven’t already and continue on the hop!

Hello Crafty Friends,

It has been cold and rainy in Southern California the past few days and supposed to be the rest of the week.  I love rainy days.
This past weekend, I played with my gel press.   I have another card to share with you.

The heart was done with a print from the gel press.    I first placed dots of reinkers in Bubble Gum, Watermelon Fusion and Cranberry Bliss.

I then used my brayer to blend the colors.  After they were blended, I pulled a print.

It is hard to see in the picture, but the heart is kind of ombre looking.

All Supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey.  You can purchase them here.
Stamp: Hearts and Bows ATC
Paper: Cranberry Bliss Cardstock, Pearled Basics Cardstock, Whip Cream Cardstock, Through the Years Printed Paper
Ink: Black Licorice
Accessories: Love Bud Paper Flowers
