Happy Halloween Jack O Lantern

My favorite thing about Halloween is to carve pumpkins.  I love the creativity of it and today's card reminds me of this memory.
The card base is a piece of Black Licorice Cardstock and a piece of Harvest Days Pattern Paper.
Then I wrapped a piece of Black Licorice Journey Twine around the card.  I created a fluffy bow and tied this onto the card with a piece of extra twine.
With Buttercream Cardstock, I cut a banner from the Banner Parade die set.  I adhered this to the card using foam squares.
To make the pumpkin, I die cut three circles using Journey circles and Tangerine Fusion Cardstock.  I distressed the sides with Pumpkin Bread Ink and then overlapped them.  The leaf and stem is a leaf die cut from the Flower Layers die set in Limeade Splash and the stem is folded behind the leaf.
To finish the card off, I stamped Happy Halloween from the Many Wishes stamp set in Tangerine Fusion Ink and used a black marker to draw the jack o lantern face.  Enjoy!

A Spooky Sky

A lot of the themes of Halloween are spooky.  I saw a card on Pinterest which had a spooky sky on it and decided I wanted to try it.
I started out with a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock that would fit on the top of my card base made of Black Licorice Cardstock.  I die cut a circle from a piece of scrap Cardstock and the Journey Circles die set.  I placed this circle on my Whip Cream Cardstock using a piece of scotch tape in the desired area.
Then using River Stone Ink, I sponged in on to the Cardstock.  After applying a think layer, I changed to Rock Candy ink and did the same thing,  this time making sure I am getting darker.  I then took the circle off.  Lastly, I took Black Licorice Ink and put in the darkest layer of clouds across the circle that was made with the ink.
I then stamped two large bats from the Which Witch stamp set in Black Licorice on the sky and another one on a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock, which I fussy cut out.  Using a foam square, I popped the bat up.
I tied a piece of Black Licorice Gingham ribbon around the Whip Cream Cardstock piece and added a Black Licorice Journey Twine fluffy bow on top.
The card is finished off with a Fun Days Element to the bow, the stamped sentiment from Which Witch set in Black Licorice Ink, some Journey Sequins-Special Celebrations and Journey Glaze to the popped up bat.  Enjoy!

Creative Blooms Challenge

Hello friends.  Today I want to share a card I created for the challenge at Creative Blooms.  Here is the sketch challenge:
Here is the color challenge:
As always, I incorporated the two challenges together and created this card:
The base of the card is created with Bubble Gum Cardstock measuring 5 1/2 x 11.  I then cut a piece of Black Licorice Cardstock measuring 5 3/8 square.  I then cut stripes of Bubble Gum, Sweet Pear and Citrus Cooler Cardstock and layer them across the Black Licorice Cardstock.
The tag I cut from my Cricut cartridge from Sweet Pear Cardstock and matted it with Citrus Cooler Cardstock.
I stamped the cupcake from Yummy and Delicious with Black Licorice outline and Bubble Gum Ink for the cupcake liner.  For the frosting, I inked the stamp up with Sweet Pear Ink and then just lightly inked randomly with the Citrus Cooler ink.  I added swirls of Journey Glaze and then some Journey Sparkle Dust to make it sparkle.
I finished the card by adding "happy day" from Howdy Notes in Black Licorice Ink and a Fun Day Element.  Enjoy!

Anyone for a cupcake?

If you know anything about me, you know that I love cupcakes.  With that said, I thought I needed to make a Halloween card with a cupcake.
I started this card with a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock with a piece of Tangerine Fusion cardstock which has been embossed with the Beach Towel embossing folder.
The cupcake is stamped from the Yummy and Delicious Set in Black Licorice Ink for the cupcake liner and Tangerine Fusion Ink for the frosting.  To create the frosting, I inked up the frosting stamp with Tangerine Fusion Ink and then taking the liner stamp and dragging it through the ink in a zig zag motion.  Then stamp it on the Whip Cream Cardstock.
I added a piece of paper from our Harvest Days Paper and cut a banner end in it and adhered this to the card.  Then take a piece of Black Licorice Journey Twine around the card and tie a bow in the middle.
The sentiment is stamped on Whip Cream Cardtsock in Black Licorice Ink from the Which Witch stamps set.
I finished the card by adding a bat cut out from the Snapshot Frames die set and added some Journey Glaze and Journey Sparkle Dust to the frosting.

Fall and leaves

Today's card is another one of my favorites.  I hope you like it as much as I do.
The base of the card is made with a piece of Cocoa Powder Cardstock and a piece of Harvest Days paper.  I then wrapped a piece of Natural Journey Twine around the card and tied a double knot.  I then made a fluffy bow with the same twine and tied this on over the double knot.
I die cut the doily out of a piece of vellum.  I anchored this to my card using adhesive behind where the leaves would lay.
I then stamped the leaves from the Autumn Day stamp set with Hazelnut Blend ink on Oatmeal Cookie and Pumpkin Bread Cardstock.  I adhered these to the card, flat.
I then die cut the leaf and the word "fall" from the Snapshot Frame die set in Summer Days Cardstock. I then adhered these to the card flat.
To finish off the card I splattered Bronze Silk over the whole card.  I then added a few pearls.  Enjoy!

Nala- Fair Display

Today I want to share with you another display I made for the LA County Fairgrounds.
Most of supplies used on this project were supplied by the fairgrounds.  I knew I wanted to use the stamp set Cats and Dogs from Fun Stampers Journey.  I stamped them on Oatmeal Cookie and Banana Cream Cardstock and fussy cut them out.
I love the way the rope, the stickers, the dogs and the stripes look all together..  Most of all, I love this puppy and can't believe she is on the wall for a whole year so others can see her.  Enjoy!

Birds on a Wire- Fair Display

Last month, while we were teaching and sharing the Fun Stampers Journey product, we were asked to create some projects to be displayed in the wall in the DIY Center at the LA fair grounds.  What an opportunity to be able to be on the wall all year.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
The base of the project was 8 1/2 x 11 piece of Black Licorice Cardstock.  I then cut a piece of Pool Play Cardstock at 8 1/4 by 10 3/4.  I dies cut a few clouds from the Cloud Dream die set, also in Pool Play cardstock.  I then distressed these clouds with Whip Cream ink.  I then drew in the lines for "wires" and stamped the birds from the Sweet Home set in Black Licorice Ink.  I then wrapped Black Licorice Twine around the piece of Pool Play cardstock, following the lines I drew on earlier.
I then stamped the birdhouses from the same set in Black Licorice Ink onto Banana Cream, Lavender Fusion and Yummy Prints.  I fussy cut the houses out and then stamped another one on the piece of Pool Play.  I stamped "Life is Beautiful" from the same set in Watermelon Fusion on Whip Cream Cardstock.
I finished off the project by adding Heart Sparkle Drops and flowers.  Enjoy!

Leaves and More Leaves

Last month, Fun Stampers Journey had a Color Crush Challenge.  The challenge was to come up with a series of colors and create a project with them.  This was a no brainier for me.  I love, love, love Fall colors.  My Color Crush pallet was Hazelnut Blend, Pumpkin Bread, Cranberry Bliss, And Summer Days.  With these colors, I created this card:
I created the base of the card with Hazelnut Blend, Pumpkin Bread and Cranberry Bliss Cardstock layers.  I then took a piece of Buttercream Cardstock and randomly stamped the leaves from the Autumn Days set with Hazelnut Blend, Pumpkin Bread, Cranberry Bliss, Summer Days Ink.  To fill in the blank spaces, I stamped Oatmeal Cookie leaves.
I then used Hazelnut Blend Ink and stamped each of the leaves on piece of scrap paper of the same colors.
I tied Natural Journey Twine around the Buttercream piece and tied a Wooden Button to the front.  I then placed the leaves in and under the button.
Lastly, I used Gold Silk to splatter some interest to the top of the card.
Enjoy!

October Calendar

September was a whirlwind and now it is October, can you believe it?  Today I want to share my calendar for October.
For the Calendar side, I layered a piece of Rock Candy Cardstock to the top.  I used Black Licorice Ink to add some distress to this piece of cardstock.  Using Black Licorice ink, I distressed the moon and stamped the baby bat from the Which Witch set.  I then placed my Summer Days "moon" cut with Journey Circles to the top using foam squares.  I the die cut a bat from the Snapshot Frames die set in Black Licorice Cardstock.  I then distressed the whole piece and stamped some more bats on the bottom with Black Licorice Ink.  I finished it off by adding some Black Licorice Journey Twine.
For the photo side, I first layered Black Licorice Cardstock with Pretty Pansy cardstock.  I then took a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock slightly smaller and stamped the Potions background (retired) in Black Licorice Ink.  I then used the Summer Days Ink Pad to distress this.   I tied a bow with Black Licorice Journey Twine to the bottom.
I stamped the crow from Haunted Screams in Black Licorice Ink.  I fussy cut him out and placed him on the background with foam squares.  I add the Boo! cut from the Snapshot Frames in Black Licorice Cardstock.
I finished the whole project off by adding a drop of Journey Glaze to the crow's eye and covered the moon with a thin layer.  Enjoy!

You Did It- Mojo Monday Challenge

Today's card is one I created for the challenge over at Mojo Monday's.  Each Monday, they post a sketch and to enter in the challenge you create a card based on the sketch and post it to their challenge page.  Here is the sketch for this week:

Here the card I created:
I created this card using all products from Fun Stampers Journey.  I used a piece of Lemon Drop Cardstock for the base of the card.  I took a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock and stamped Linked Dots with Black Licorice Ink to create the background.
I die cut the stars out of Whip Cream and Lemon Drop Cardstock using the Star-Dom die set.
Using the Ink Splat ATS with Lemon Drop Ink I made the background behind the words "You did it! It's about time!", from the stamp set You Do it! that I stamped in Black Licorice Ink.
I finished the card off by using a silver puffy star and tied a Black Licorice Journey Twine around and in a bow at the top.
Enjoy!

Halloween Treat Pocket

September Card Classes were all about Halloween!  The second project we created was a treat holder.
Using the Tagged Pocket Die and Black Licorice Cardstock, we created the pocket part.  We then tied a Tangerine Fusion ribbon in a knot around the pocket.  I then created another fuller bow with Black Licorice Journey Twine and threaded a Orange Button to the top.
I then stamped the crow from Haunted Screams ATS and stamped the image in Black Licorice Ink.  This was fussy cut out and the beak and feet were colored with a colored pencil.  This was attached to the project using foam squares.
The sentiment, "Happy Halloween" from the Many Wishes was stamped on Whip Cream Cardstock and stamped in Tangerine Fusion Ink and adhered to the project using our Mini Wooden Clothespin.
Add your favorite treat and these would be adorable to pass out to friends and family for Halloween.  Enjoy!

Cat's Meow

I want to share the first Halloween Card I created for my September Classes.
I am not a big fan of Halloween, but I do like cute things.  I think this Cat's Meow ATS is pretty cute and doesn't necessarily have to be just a black cat for Halloween.
The base of the card was created with Lemon Drop Cardstock with a slightly smaller layer of Black Licorice on top.  I then tied a Black Licorice Journey Twine bow around this layer.  I layered a piece of pattern paper from Harvest Days Prints in a banner shape to the card.
I die cut a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock with the Journey Circles Die to create the focal piece.  I then stamped the Ink Splat ATS in Lemon Drop Ink.
The cats were stamped on a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock with Black Licorice Ink and fussy cut.
I then placed the cats on the card using Foam Squares to give them dimension,
I finished the card off by adding some Journey Sequins-Special Celebration to the card.  Enjoy!

Lil Monster- Happy Halloween

This little guy today is just cute!  He is from Fun Stampers Journey's; Journey Holidays Collection.  He just makes me smile!
This was a fun card to create.
First, I created the base of the card using Black Licorice Cardstock.  I then took a piece of Grape Fusion Cardstock measuring 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and embossed it with the Yummy Dots Embossing Folder.
I also did this with a piece of Limeade Splash Cardstock measuring 2 5/8 x 3 3/4.
After I embossed them, I took my Rock Candy Ink Pad and laid the pad on top of the Cardstock and lightly scrapped the stamp pad across the paper.  This is how I got the dots to be colored and not the whole piece of Cardstock.
The sentiment was stamped with Rock Candy ink on Whip Cream Cardstock.  I then used Cool Pool and Silver Silk and splattered the card.
I then stamped Lil Monster in Rock Candy ink on Grape Fusion, Orange Creamcicle and Whip Cream Cardstock and paper pieced him together.  To finish him off, I colored some of this circles with a green colored pencil and dropped Journey Glaze on top and the other circles I attached Candy Dots to them.
Isn't he a cutie?!  Enjoy!
