My first Design Team Challenge

I am so excited to tell you about something I have done.  I wanted to challenge myself this year and GROW! (See my post dated January 1,2015). One thing I have wanted to do is be on a design team and complete challenges.  I was accepted to my first design team at Mema's Crafts.
Well, today is the day that my first designs were published!
Here is the first one using a digital image from Bugaboo Image called Puppy Love Heart String.

I used my Copic markers to color the puppy.  Then I used Fun Stampers Cardstock, Pine Cone Press pattern paper and Michael's Ribbon.  I love this image, because one of my loves in my life is my brother's dog Nala.
Next, I created a card with a digital image from Stitchy Bear Image called BB Kakes Heart Girl 1.
Here, I used my Copic markers to color her.  I also used Fun Stampers Journey Cardstock and Authentique pattern paper. I liked this image because it reminds of when I was a little girl and there was always that one boy in class that you were afraid to give a Valentine to.  I thought her face expressed that feeling of nervousness.
Enjoy!

Valentine's Copic card

Today, I have a card I made this weekend after taking a class with my friend Nikki @Nikki'sCreativeNook.
I tried doing a dark skinned baby this time, since I always do light skinned ones.  I think it came out pretty good.  The saxophone took some working, but in the end I was pretty happy with it.  Enjoy!

Julie Nutting Dollhouse

Today I have my #3 project for my 157 projects in 2015.  I have been making doll tags for each of the months of the year for my secret friend.  I wanted her to have a place to keep all the dolls, so I made a dollhouse for her.
Inside the dollhouse, I created 6 pages, with a pocket on each side, where she can tuck the dolls in.
I had fun creating the dollhouse using the Julie Nutting dollhouse chipboard album.  She loved it!  I will share the rest of the dolls I made for her in the future.  Enjoy!

Snowman ATC swap

This past Sunday, I demonstrated and brought snacks for my ATC group.  I chose the theme of snowmen, because I love snowmen.  In fact, I decorate my house for Christmas in all snowmen, so that I can leave my decorations up for months.  I love their cute little expressions and then just put a smile on your face.
So the project I created was a "Frosty" shaker card.
This is how I created him.

1. Attach the blue piece of Cardstock to the white base piece, aligning it in the middle.  Next, put foam tape around the outside of the blue Cardstock where the white border is.

2.  Next, go ahead and expose the top of the tape.  Attach "Frosty" ( Fun Stampers Journey ATS) to the left corner of the card.

3.  Go ahead and place some wet adhesive over the areas in the tape that "Frosty" covered.  When you are almost ready to put the acetate on, pour some of your favorite glitter and sequins on top of him.

4.  Place the acetate on top, making sure that all of the sides are attached.  Then place, the white border over the top with some more adhesive.  Your done!  Enjoy!

January Doll Tag and 157 projects in 2015

I have another Julie Nutting Doll tag for you today that I made for my secret friend.  I love snowmen, so I had to to make sure there was a snowman on the tag.  January is all about snow and snowmen right?  If you notice also, I took this picture with my collection of snowmen.  I told you I love snowmen and this isn't all of them.
Also, this tag is my project #1 for my new group challenge I am participating in.  We are a group of crafters that are trying to complete 157 projects in 2015.  Through the group we are held accountable and earn badges based on the number of projects that we complete.  I have one done, but I have 156 more to go!  What are you challenging yourself with this new year?

New Year, New Word

Happy New Year Crafty People!

For the past two years I have participated in the "One Word" New Years Challenge.  The idea is that each year you pick a word to use instead of making New Years resolutions.  You use this word to make changes in your life, like resolutions.  This year I have chosen the word GROW.

I want to GROW in my crafting techniques.  I want to GROW in my faith.  I want to GROW as a teacher.  I want to GROW in my leadership responsibilities.  I want to GROW in my friendships. Grow is my word this year.  What word would you use?  Comment and let me know.
