Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog

Hello Crafty Friends,

Christmas all year so you are ready for Christmas this year.  I love Christmas and love to create projects for gifts that will be cherished.  Today I am sharing a project I created as a gift for a dear friend.

This is a 3D shadow box picture of Mary and baby Jesus. I cut the file on my Cricut and placed the 13 layers together with foam strips. The picture does not do justice.

I did try something new on this project.  The words to "Silent Night" are done with the foil tool for the Cricut.  It was amazing to watch it write it. I will definitely be doing that again.

Thank you for stopping by.  Leave me a comment and then share your Christmas projects with us as Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog.

Love to Craft- Challenge- Anything Goes

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new month, which means a new challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.  The theme is anything goes so let's see that you have made.  Share it with us.

This month I want to share a new paper crafting project I have ventured into. I am loving these 3D shadow box projects.  The one today is of a ladybug.

The file it self is a total of 12 layers to make this picture.  I used my Cricut to cut the layers and then I place each layer on top of each other with a foam strip in between,

The picture does not allow this project to pop the way it is in person, but still worthy of a share.

Now, let's see what you have created lately.  Please leave me a comment and then head over to Love to Craft Challenge Blog and share your project.

Mix It Up Challenge Blog- Anything Goes with a 3D twist

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Mix it Up Challenge Blog.  We want to see your 3-D projects.  No flat projects here, we want to see the dimension!

Yesterday, I shared a baby banner I created for a Baby Shower that never happened because of the pandemic.  Today, I want to share just a few pages of the almost 29 page album I created for the family with the continued theme from the banner.

Here is the cover.  The theme was hot air balloons.

On the front cover  I created the background using my Cricut.  I then ran some rose ribbon around the far left side.  I cut and assembled the hot air balloons from Miss Kate's Cuttables and placed them in the right top corner.  To finish it, I added some pink and white flowers around the bottom.

Here is a few pages.

I made them kind of generic since I did not know the Mom-to-Be, but I wanted them to be easy for her to just add her photos.

I had fun making this project.  Now it is your turn to create something that is not flat, and has some dimension.  Share it with is at Mix it Up Challenge Blog.  Also, please leave me a comment.

Love to Craft Challenge Blog- Anything Goes

 Hello Crafty Friends,

New month brings new challenges to the Love to Craft Challenge Blog.  As always, the theme is "Anything Goes", so get creative.

This month I am sharing a banner I made for a Baby shower that never happened. I create a couple of custom pieces for this baby shower, but the pandemic hit and the event was cancelled.  The items were delivered to the family, but the shower never happened.

I created this banner pieces using an old Close to My Heart Cricut cartridge called Art Philosophy and my Cricut. I then used doilies cut in half for the top of the banner pieces.  For a different look, I attached paper straws, cut to length on the top of the banner pieces and ran the twine through the straws.

I embellished the end pieces with pink baby feet on each side.

I loved creating it and the family loved receiving it.
Now it is your turn.  Create a new project and share it with us at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Please also leave me a comment.

P.S. I am sharing the album for this project in my post for tomorrow, November 2nd!

Love to Craft Challenge Blog- Anything Goes

Hello Crafty Friends,

We are in the heat of summer and what is better when you are on Summer Vacation but to craft and be creative.  I have recently been working on some Christmas ornaments and wanted to share my favorite so far.

I created this ornament using the ornaments from Dollar Tree. I then used Poly acrylic and white glitter to color the ornament white.  I then used permanent vinyl in black and red and cute the image out with my Cricut.

To finish the project, I added the red polka dot bow from ribbon in my stash.

I love the craft and hope you do too.  Let's see your projects. Join the challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog where anything goes.

Bitten By the Bug 2- Collaboration Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 and we collaborated with Double Trouble.  It is all about layers for this challenge.

For Cuddle Up Day, let's think cozy and warm...  Layer Up!  You MUST use at least one die, punch, or machine cut and include at least two or more layers on your project. Bring on your card layering techniques and Layer Up.

I created this free file form Dreaming Tree, for an upcoming class and thought this was a great "layered up" project.

The layers are are in the flower on the front of the card holder.  It is a total of 7 different layers.  It is such a fun design too.

Here is a close up of the layers.

Thank you for stopping by.   Please leave me a comment.  Then create a project with layers and share it with us here at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Bitten By the Bug 2- Any Holiday

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Christmas is close and I am excited.  I love the anticipation of the whole season.  I love the lights, the trees and how everyone gets "dressed up" for the occasion.  This month our pastor is teaching on the history and theology behind key Christmas Carols and it has made the seasons so much more special for me.

To celebrate the season, I created this little 5 x 5 shadow box I picked up at Michaels.  I know exactly what I wanted to use it for.

I used a SVG from Design Bundles and cut it out of white and silver vinyl.  It is hard to see, but the word Christmas, down the center is written in silver glitter.  Why silver you ask, because I prefer silver over gold.

I added some gingham lace around the edges of the frame and used snowflakes to add interest.

The verse is perfect for the season and this is the try reason for Christmas.

Happy Holidays to your family.

Bitten By The Bug 2: Christmas Ornament

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2, just in time for trimming the tree.  Let's see your handmade ornaments using your Cricut.

I used one of my go to companies for all things 3-D, Dreaming Tree, and created this timeless ornament.

I created this using Green cardstock, silver cardstock, pattern paper and vellum I had in my stash.  There is a door on the backside that you can open up and place a battery-operated tealight inside.

I can't wait to add this ornament to my tree.

Now it is your turn.  Create an ornament of any kind with your Cricut and share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2.

With a few pieces of cardstock and my Cricut, I created a cute envelope card to give to my favorite player.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Family/Heritage

Hello Crafty Friends,

When I think of November, I think of gratitude and family.   This challenge is perfect for the month of November.

I created a scrapbook layout of our Thanksgiving impromptu picture shoot.

Here is the layout I created.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Something to Crow About

Hello Crafty Friends,

Fall is here and all the sights and sounds and colors are here.  Something I love to see in fall are scarecrows, pumpkins and the hat bales.  I love the idea of fall, the harvest time, so this was the perfect challenge for me.

I created this cute adorable card using my Cricut and a svg file from My Scrap Chick

Isn't he the cutest?  I love that cute smile and simplicity of his face.  I used cardstock in different colors that I had in my stash.  The pattern paper for his arm is from "Fall Breeze" from Echo Park.

The card is an easel card, so when you open it up, it stands up.

The stamped sentiment is from Queen and Company's Special Delivery set.  I finished the card off by adding some twine to his wrist and white dots for the crows eye and the inside of the sunflower center.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.  Then create something that has to do with scarecrows, crows or black birds and join the challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Use Pattern Paper

Hello Crafty Friends,

Pattern paper!  I love paper and pattern paper is even better, so this is a perfect for me!

I found this cute svg from SVG Cuts and had to create it.

I used pattern paper from Echo Park's Fall Breeze collection to create the shirt.  The base of the card and the cuffs were cut from some cardstock I had on hand that matched the pattern paper.

To finish the card, I added some orange stones to the pocket and shirt to be the buttons.

The perfect card for a man in your life.

Now it is your turn.  Create a project with your Cricut that showcases pattern paper and share it with us at Bitten by the Bug 2.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Witches and Ghouls

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2 and it is all about Halloween.  Witches and Ghouls are the scary part of Halloween and can be popular among people.  If you know anything about me, I do not do scary for Halloween, so this was a stretch.

I decided on making this Candy Treat box from Dreaming Tree and gifted it to a friend.

It is larger than I expected but, pretty easy to put together.

Here is a close up of the front of the box.

Here is a close up the back picture with the ghouls.

I used cardstock I had on hand to create the box.  It is hard to tell from the pictures, but the ghosts are cut from white glitter cardstock.

Now it is your turn.  Create a Halloween project with your Cricut including witches and ghouls and share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2.

FYI, she loved it!

Bitten by the Bug 2- Celebrating Grandparents

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is time for a new challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2.  I could not wait to create this rocking chair from SVG cuts.

I remember lots of hours spent sitting in a rocking chair with my grandmas and reading books.  This has and always be a memory I will remember and is probably why I am such a reader now.

Here is a look at the seat of the chair.

I used pattern paper from the Bloomsbury paper pad from Michael's and Denim Days cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.

Now it is your turn.  Create a project that celebrates grandparents.  Then share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a birthday theme over at Bitten By the Bug 2.  I wanted to play with my new paper pad from Michael's so I created this card.

I created the card base using cardstock and pattern paper from Michael's.  I then cut the words with my Cricut from the Celebrations cartridge.  I glued them to a piece of white cardstock and cut around them.

I added them to the card base using foam squares.

I finished the card by adding a red piece of twine around the card and tied a bow.

Now it is your turn.  Create a birthday project and share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Under the Sea

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is time for a new Cricut challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2 and the theme is Under the Sea!  This was challenge to lead and I have known for months what I wanted to create.  Here is what I created:

It is water bottle that says: Can't be a mermaid without water.  I purchased the file on Etsy and cut it out with my Cricut using permanent vinyl in purple, turquoise, white and blue.

On the back and put the times and refill.

The times came out kind of crooked, but I love it.  First time trying to do something like this on a surface that was not flat.

Now it is your turn.  Create a project with an "Under the Sea" theme and join us at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Two Challenges in One- The Great Outdoors

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a card that I created for two different challenges.  One challenge is at Bitten By the Bug 2, with the theme: The Great Outdoors.

...and the second challenge is at Get Creative Challenge Blog with an Anything Goes challenge.

So I created this card.

I used pattern paper from Echo Park and cut with my Cricut from the Art Philosophy cartridge from Close to My Heart for the tree the owl is sitting on.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts which I stamped with black ink.

I then colored the owl with my Copics:

Owl: E39, E37, E35

Branch: E29, E27

Leaves: G94, G24

The great outdoors for me is camping and hearing the owls at night.

Now it is your turn.  Create an Outdoor project using your Cricut and join the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 or complete any project and join the challenge at Get Creative Challenge Blog.

Bitten By the Bug 2 Recycling Challenge

 Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a unique challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2 Challenge Blog.  Let's see what projects we can come up with recycling.

I reused a Folgers Coffee Container.

I painted the container and created a Halloween candy container.

I used a cut file from Miss Kate's Cuttables to create the face and cut from vinyl.  I had to fussy cut the hair to fit the container, but used the rest of the file as is.

I even put vinyl bolts on the sides.  I drew with a Sharpie the stitches and the smile.

I can't wait to use this container to give out candy this year.

Now it is your turn.  Create something from something else and share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2 Challenge Blog.
