Crafty Gals Corner - Challenge # 234 - Lazy Days of Summer

Hello Crafty Friends,

We are in the dog days of summer and we are roasting here in Southern California. I am lucky to be able to work from home in the air conditioner. I hope you are keeping cool where ever you are too.

Our theme this month is the Lazy Days of Summer. Summer is over for me, but I can still dream about what I would like to be doing.

I received this cute "Camping is fun" digital stamp from Pattie Creations to create a card.

Here is the card I created.

I used my Copics to color the image.

Camper: YR09, YR16, YR15

Door and Banner: BG49, BG15

Curtains: G24

Trailer hitch and metal pieces: C7, C5, C3

I then paired the image with "Happy Camper" paper from Doodlebug Designs.

I created a Z fold card.  Here is a look at the inside.

I hope you have found a spark of inspiration and will join the challenge at Crafty Gals Corner and share your summer project.  Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Family/Heritage

Hello Crafty Friends,

When I think of November, I think of gratitude and family.   This challenge is perfect for the month of November.

I created a scrapbook layout of our Thanksgiving impromptu picture shoot.

Here is the layout I created.

I created the layout from a pattern paper pad from Michaels.  I then cut out the title using my cricut and a svg from Miss Kate's Cuttables.

Here is a close up of the title:

Bitten by the Bug 2- Celebrating Grandparents

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is time for a new challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2.  I could not wait to create this rocking chair from SVG cuts.

I remember lots of hours spent sitting in a rocking chair with my grandmas and reading books.  This has and always be a memory I will remember and is probably why I am such a reader now.

Here is a look at the seat of the chair.

I used pattern paper from the Bloomsbury paper pad from Michael's and Denim Days cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.

Now it is your turn.  Create a project that celebrates grandparents.  Then share it with us at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Bitten by the Big 2- Country Fair

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a fun new challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2, the Country Fair.  I decided to create a scrapbook layout for this challenge.

I created the title with an SVG from Miss Kate's Cuttables cut with my Cricut and cardstock.  I then used pattern paper from Doodlebug's Down on the Farm as well as the icons.  The red shape was from my stash and was an old cutout from Creative Memories.

I added some yellow bakers twine and wooden star to the left hand side.   I then added my pictures.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment and then create your own project and join us on the Bitten By the Bug 2 blog.

Bitten By the Bug 2: Sports

 Hello Crafty Friends,

It is Monday and we have a new challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2.  Let's see your sports projects.

For my project, I created a sign for my brother's front yard.

The sign itself I found at Dollar Tree.  The sign said Friends and Family.  I painted over them with White paint and started over.

I cut the Dallas Cowboys out of vinyl using my Cricut and a file I bought on Etsy.  I then sprayed it to seal it and added some ribbon to jazz it up.

He loved it and I was so glad he did.  It was a simple project and fun to do for him.

Now your turn.  Make something using your Cricut that is sports related and join the challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Bitten By the Bug 2- Back to School

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Bitten by The Bug 2; Back to School.  It is that time again, even if the kids are not going back to in-person teaching.  I am a virtual teacher and have been for the last 6 years.  I am thankful I made the transition then, not knowing what was coming.

If you are in-person or virtual, decorating for the new year can be fun and encouraging.  If you know me, I love banners and especially Doodlebug banners.   I knew I had to make one with the Doodlebug collection for school.

Everything is cut with the Cricut.  I cut the letters with a font already in my system.  The banner pieces are cut from the Close to my Heart Cartridge, Art Philosophy.

Here are some closer pictures of the individual pieces.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment and then join the challenge with your own Back to School Projects cut with your Cricut at Bitten By The Bug 2.

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have wanted to make some type of card that we could give to our new neighbors when they move in.

The card base is made with a Whip Cream cardstock, with a layer of Doodlebug pattern paper.  I then cut a strip from the paper with the houses.
I stamped the house from a stamp set from Family and Company from Fancy Pants.
I colored the house with my colored pencils.
I printed the sentiment off my computer.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Road Trip Scrapbook Layout

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I want to share a scrapbook layout I created for an album I am working on about our Road Trip in 2013.

I have had this map paper for a long time, and I thought it was the best paper for this Road trip layout.

The letters that I used for the title are cork letters, which I think look really good with the terrain.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Bitten by The Bug 2: Wedding or Anniversary

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2.  The challenge is to use your Cricut to create something for a wedding or anniversary.

I decided to create the first page of a wedding album I am going to start working on.

I used a file from Miss Kate's Cuttables file for the flower embellishments on either side of picture.

The cardstock for the letters and the matte for the picture are cut from Pearled Basics Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.
The lettering is from DJ Inkers cut with the Pearled Basics cardstock.

Simple, but great for a title page.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.  Then join the challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2 and show us your Cricut makes.

Bitten by the Bug 2- Graduation

I chose to create a layout.

I used pattern paper from the Echo Park Paper and Glue set.   I then cut the owl from Miss Kate's Cuttables.  The letters are from Love SVG.

Here is a close up of the owl with his cute little cap.  I cut the owl our with cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.

Here is a close up of his glass that I popped up and used Fun Stampers Journey Journey glaze to create the shine.

Bitten By The Bug 2- Let's Get Outdoors

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2- Let's Get outside.  I decided to use this theme to scrapbook a layout from our trip to Sea World back in 2018.

I used the svg cut files from Miss Kate's Cuttables to make the title and the dolphins.
The paper pack is from Echo Park, which I used for all the pattern pieces across the bottom of the layout and the circle on the left side of the layout.

Here is a close up of the title.

Here is a close up of my journal page.

I used cardstock I had on hand to mat the pictures and to create the journal box in the top right corner.

I hope you will join the challenge this week and show us your Outdoor activities.  You can click here to join.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Doodlebug Turkey

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are getting excited for Thanksgiving.  I always look forward to the food and fellowship.  We are hosting this year, so I had to create something as our center piece.

I love Doodlebug paper and knew I had to use it on this turkey.  I hand cut each of the pieces.  I then inked the edges to hide any imperfections.

I also inked the face area to darken the head a little bit.

Here he is standing up.

I think the colors are more realistic in this last picture.
I purchased the wooden turkey from JoAnn's and covered with Doodlebug Designs Pattern Paper.

Happy Thanksgiving.

The adventure I documented was a small part of our trip to San Diego last summer.

When I was little, I would spend a week in San Diego and my grandma and I would spend hours looking for shells on the shore.  I wanted to do the same thing with the kids, so we did.  We did not find a lot of shells, and we got eaten by bugs, but it was still a great adventure.
Here is a detail picture of the shells I added to the layout as embellishments that I cut with my Cricut and Life's a Beach cartridge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Be sure to hop over to my friend Narelle's Blog.

Here's our line up in case you get lost along the way.

5/17/19

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is Friday!!  Yeah!  It has been a long week.

Today I am sharing another masculine card I created for my card classes this month.

This card was fun.  I started with a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock.  I then die cut a piece of Good Life prints with Journey Ovals to make the neckline.
I cut a small square from the same pattern paper to make the pocket.  I added a piece of Chambray Shirt Cardstock cut in a small square to be used as a handkerchief.
I then die cut the bow from the Create a Mini Bow die set out of Chambray Shirt Cardstock.    I added this to the card.
I chose not to put a sentiment, so that I could add it later.

All supplies are from Spellbinders/FSJ and can be purchased here.
