Love to Craft Challenge Blog- Anything goes

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is a new month and a new challenge at Love to Craft Challenge blog.  The challenge is always anything goes, we just want to see what you are creating.

I recently attended a retreat with crafty ladies.  We have been attending this retreat for 10 years, so the theme was decades.  We all swapped cards from different decades.  I knew immediately what stamp set I wanted to use, the Golden Age by Kindred Stamps and specifically Lucy.

Here is the card I created

I colored up the Lucy stamp with my Copics

Skin: E11, E21, E50

Hair: E18, E09, YR09

Dress/Shoes: B26, B23, B21

The tv die is from Kindred Stamps which I die cut from brown and grey cardstock.  The "picture" on the tv is an image of the logo from the show that I printed on my computer.

I die cut the red scalloped background from Waffle Flower and finished the card with jewels from Queen and Company,

I love the way the card came out and it was a hit at the retreat.

Please leave me a comment and then share one of your projects with us at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Crafty Gals Corner- Christmas in July

Hello Crafty Friends,

Can you believe we are about half way to Christmas?  This year is flying by. So, let's celebrate with a challenge at Crafty Gals Corner titled "Christmas in July".  I am always up for Christmas cards and projects.  Snowmen are my favorite at Christmas time so I was excited that I was able to play with the "Snowman and Birdie Friends" from Conie Fong.

Conie Fong is a self-taught artist residing in California, USA with her husband, daughter, pet hamster and fishes.  In her early childhood years, she was inspired by every kind of art and crafts.  She loved watching demonstrations by artists on the streets and at festivals and spent most of her free time perusing arts and crafts books in the library, drawing, crafting and experimenting with her art supplies at home.  Conie first started sharing her art with the world by selling ACEO reprints of her ACEO paintings of fairies, mermaids, and kitty art on Ebay in 2010.  She was a full time account manager for a University before becoming a full time mom and part time artist.  She currently enjoys spending time with her family traveling, exploring the outdoors, and designing beautiful, cute, and magical art for craft and coloring lovers.

Conie is an amazing artist and I had fun working with this image.  I colored the image with my Copics.

Copics used:

Hat: G24, G21, R35, R32, W9, W7, W5

Snow: B00, B000, B0000

Nose: YR18, YR02

Coal: W9, W7

Here is a closer look at the image alone:

The sentiment was stamped from a retired set from Kindred Stamps- Magical Season. I used paper from Echo Park and a piece of vellum in a scallop shape for the background.  To finish the card I added some silver glitter enamal does.

Now it is your turn.  Create a Christmas card and join us for the challenge at Crafty Gals Corner Blog.

Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is July and we are half way to the Christmas season. Creating Christmas cards is my favorite thing to do. I created this Christmas card for a swap I was in.

All supplies are from Kindred Stamps. This was a limited edition Christmas set a year ago, so it may not be available, but I had to create this cute castle, with my favorite guy out front.

The castle is made with 15 different pieces of cardstock and glitter cardstock. The garland and Mickey wreath are another two layers.

I stamped and colored the Mickey with my Copics.

To finish the card, I added a bow to the wreath.

I hope you are creating Christmas cards a little at a time throughout the year so you have a nice "stash" by the end of the year.  Share some of them with us at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and leave me a comment too.

I then stamped the images from Kindred Stamps and colored them with my Copics.

The unique card needed an awesome envelope to put it in, so the project is the matching envelope from the same file.

Love to Craft Challenge- Anything Goes

 Hello Crafty Friends,

It is April 1st and that means we have a new Anything Goes Challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.  Today I have a fun fold card I tried out to share with you.

I love sloths and I love coffee, so this was a fun card to create.  This is the card folded up.  It makes a 4 x 4 square card when it is folded up.

Here is the card laying flat.

I used Echo Park's Coffee pattern paper in 6 x 6 sheets for the pattern paper.  I then colored the sloth with the coffee cup from Kindred Stamps with my Copics.

Here are the two ends of the card.

The sentiments are from the Echo Park paper pack.

I loved this new technique and will probably use it again.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment and then create a new project and share it with us at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Comfort and Joy

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a pretty simple card to share with you, but I love it.  I learned about this fun fold from a recent blog hop I did.

The card base is Cranberry Bliss cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey, cut to A2 size card front.  I then cut a piece off the front that was 2 1/2 inches.

I then rounded the corners of the front flap.  I cut and rounded the corners of the pattern paper from Photo Play I used on the front flap.  I then added some more pattern paper from Photo Play to the bottom of the card.  You can not see it in the picture, but I added a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock at the top of the back panel to be able to write a message.

I then die cut the scallop circle with Journey Scallops from Fun Stampers Journey from Cranberry Bliss Cardstock and a circle with Journey Circles from Fun Stampers Journey, from Whip Cream Cardstock.  I then stamped the sentiment from Kindred Stamps with Cranberry Bliss ink.

To finish the card, I added the bakers twine bow at the top.

I then layered everything on to the card front.  I stamped the sentiment from a stamp set from Kindred Stamps with Cranberry Bliss ink from Fun Stampers Journey.

The pattern paper strip is from Authentique.  I finished the card by adding a few red rhinestones.

Stampin Friends Blog Hop: Happy Holidays

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Happy Holidays.  If you are following along the hop, you have arrived from Jean's blog. Be sure to read through my blog, comment below and continue to Heidi's blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each Blog.

Here are the Holiday projects I created for this month’s hop.

Up first is the card I created.

I used cardstock from Fun Stanmpers Journey and pattern paper from Photo Play to create the base of the card.

I then stamped this cute little Santa from Kindred Stamps onto a piece of Cardstock and colored him with my Copics.
Hat, Jacket, Pants: R39, R35, R29
Beard, eyebrows and mustache: C1, C00
Boots: 100
Skin: E21, E00
Buckle: Y28
Bag: G94, G24

I then die cut the circle from Circle Around die set from Fun Stampers Journey and popped Santa on top of the circle.

To finish the card, I added a twine bow and little paper flags.  I then stamped the sentiment from Kindred Stamps with Cranberry Bliss ink from Fun Stampers Journey.  Then I added some white glitter Stickles to his hat and suit for fun.

For my project, I created a little mini mailbox for letters to Santa.

I used a svg file from Lori Whitlock to create the mini mailbox.  I cut the mailbox at 2 inches high, so it was proportional to Santa.  I placed a Hershey's Kiss inside the mailbox to be used as a treat box.
I colored Santa the same way as above.

Here are the card and mailbox together.

I hope you liked the projects I shared and you will have some ideas after continuing with the hop.  Please leave me a comment and keep on hopping.

Kindred Stamps- Cute Kids

Hello Crafty Friends,

I wanted to share a card I created a long time ago, but did not share.  I created this for a swap and the card actually went to England.

I love these little cuties.
I created the card using one of the cards from the Simple Stories Say Cheese paper line as my background.  I then added some washi tape to the bottom and used baker's twine to tie a bow.   I added a little "Mickey" jewel in the corner.
I colored the cuties with my Copics.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have a very special birthday card to share with you today.    I made this card from my brother for his birthday because he loves this show.

Elvis Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a card that I created for a dear friend who loves Elvis.

I had a challenge here, because I needed to make this a one layer card.

I first die cut a star from Stardom die set with scrap paper.  I attached this to the card with removable tape.  I then inked up the background stamp from Fun Stampers Journey, Vintage Music and Black Licorice ink.  I stamped this on an angle.  When I pulled up the star, I had the perfect area to stamp "The King".
I stamped the Elvis image from The Golden Years set from Kindred Stamps.  I then colored him with my Copics.
The recipient loved the card, and that is why I create my cards.
