Happy Birthday Butterflies

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have a crop group here in my local area, where we get together once a month and craft.  With the pandemic, we have not been meeting, so we have been meeting on Zoom.  One of our members has started doing swaps and this month it was birthday cards.  Everyone can use birthday cards, so this swap was fun.

I pinned this card on my Pinterest to do board and I thought this was a great card for my swap.
This is the front of the card.  I stamped the roses onto the Whip Cream Cardstock from a Spellbinders with Rustic Rose and Bubble Gum ink from Fun Stampers Journey.  I then stamped the "Happy Birthday" from Lawn Fawn's Big Scripty Words, with River Stone ink from Fun Stampers Journey.
I then cut the bottom of the card with Stitched Simple Wavy Borders from Lawn Fawn.  I added a small piece of Frank Garcia's Wild and Free pattern paper.
The above picture is a look of  the inside.  To get the butterfly to the front, the wings fold up and go through the slit in the front panel.

I cut the Artful Butterfly from Fun Stampers Journey from River Stone and Bubble Gum cardstock.  I then glued them together and placed them on the card, through the slit.
I then added some Sparkle Silk from Fun Stampers Journey to the wings of the butterfly.  This causes the paper to curl a little too.

Girl Talk

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are having a great Sunday.  A day of rest for me before another busy week.

I have a fun card for anyone that loves to talk on the phone.

I have had this stamp from Paper Nest Dolls, for awhile and had never inked it up before now.  I am not sure why, because it was fun to color.

I colored the image with my Copic markers:
Skin: E11, E21, E51, E50
Hair: E57, E35, E33
Desk: G99, G94
Shorts: B37, B34
Phone: C2, C0

I used the Girl Squad paper from Pebbles for the pattern paper.
The stamp set is from Spellbinders.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Happy Birthday Pin-Up

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have a great card that I created using a sketch provided by Mojo Monday.

I colored this image by Greeting Farm, a long time ago, so I don't remember the colors I used.  I waited so long to get it onto a card.

The card base is made from Whip Cream Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey and layers of pattern paper from Echo Park Splash 6 x 6 pad.
I covered the intersection of the two pattern pieces with a piece of Lemon Drop Satin ribbon from Fun Stampers Journey.
I detailed cut the image out and placed it on a circle of Whip Cream Cardstock I cut with Jounrey Circles from Fun Stampers Journey.  I then matted that onto the top of a piece of Splash paper cut with Journey Scallops from Fun Stampers Journey.
I finished the card by adding the sentiment to a strip of Whip Cream Cardstock and stamping the sentiment from the Letterboard Minis ATS with Black Licorice ink.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

With Sympathy

Hello Crafty Friends,

Sympathy cards are not the cards we want to make.  They are always the hardest to send too.  Today I want to share the sunburst technique on a simple card.

I used the pattern paper Wild and Free by Frank Garcia to create the sunburst.
The card base and sentiment strip are Butter Cream Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.

I created the sunburst background and then cut the whole piece to fit the card front.  I then cut a strip of the Butter Cream Cardstock to stamp the sentiment from Inside and Out stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey and Black Licorice ink, also from Fun Stampers Journey.

I finished the card by adding an image that I cut from an icon page from the collection and adhered it to the card with foam squares.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner.  Let's see your creations that are for the ladies.

I got to work with this amazing digital stamp from Moonflower digistamps.

I was very intimidated by the dress and hair, but I think I did a very good job.

I used my Copics to color the image.

Hair: E37, E33, E30
Face: E11, E00
Dress: R89, R85, R83, R81
Unicorn body: C1, C00, C5
Mane: V15, BG15, R85

The sentiment is from the Fun Stampers Journey stamp set Magical Unicorn and stamped with Black Licorice ink.

The flowers are from my stash.  I added some Stickles to the mane also.

Happy Mothers Day

Hello Crafty Friends,

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, so I am sharing the card I created for mom this year.

I used the Elegant Swivel and Sashay Card die set from Spellbinders, which was their April 2019 Amazing Paper Grace kit for April 2019.

The inside opens up to reveal the swivel part.

The mechanism in the middle is what does the amazing part.

I tried making this card without the die set and I could not get the pieces to line up.  This dies set was so helpful.

I then used Fun Stampers Journey Whip Cream Cardstock to create the base of the card.  I used Spring Market Pattern Paper fro Echo Park and a piece of glitter polka dot pattern paper from My Mind's Eye.  I used my Cricut to die cut the letters and heart.

I stamped the sentiment on the front with a stamp set from Spellbinders.
The flowers are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Double Easel Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

The month of May and I am creating all fun fold cards and today I want to share with you the Double Easel card.

I have done easel cards before, but a double easel card, I had to try.  I searched Pinterest and used this tutorial from Caroline Manwaring

This is the card I created.  This is a look at the front.

Here is the card standing up.

Here is a side view of the easel parts.

The instructions were not that hard and what a beautiful card.  I used Banana Cream cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey for the base.  I then used Easter Express pattern paper from Doodlebug Designs.
The butterfly is a die set from Fun Stampers Journey and I die cut the top layer out of Pretty Amethyst cardstock and the back layer out of Watermelon Fusion Cardstock.
The sentiment, Thinking of You, was from the Inside Out Stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey, stamped with Black Licorice ink.
To finish the card, I added some rhinestones I had in my stash to the middle of the butterflies and one to the sentiment area to hold the small easel part up.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Two Challenges in One!

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I want to share a card I created for a challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog and Simply Create Too Challenge Blog.
Love to Craft is always an anything goes challenge.  Simply Create Too is use flowers this month.  This card fit both of these challenges.

The file was cut with the file from Dreaming Tree and I thought it was most appropriate for this month since we are starting the month of May and what do we celebrate in May?  Birthday's and Mother's Day!

I used basic cardstock for the card base.  I then used pattern paper from My Mind's Eye Hello Gorgeous line and Echo Park's Spring Market line to create the dress.
The sentiment is from the Spellbinders Special Birthday Sentiments.

I hope you will come and join one or both of the challenges this month.

Thanking for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Stampin Friends Blog Hop

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Flowers and Mom. If you are following along the hop, you have arrived from Maureen's blog. Be sure to read through my blog, comment below and continue to Barbara's blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each Blog.
Here are the projects I created for this month’s hop.

I used the 6 x 6 pad by Pebbles called Girl Squad to create the card.  I then used Whip Cream Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey to create the card base and sentiment pieces.  The sentiment comes from a stamp set from Spellbinders.

The focal point, the flower, was created using Liquid Color by Fun Stampers Journey in Watermelon Fusion, following a technique I saw from Jennifer McGuire on Watercolor paper.  She took regular watercolors, which I do not have, and dropped the colors on the saturated image with the color and rolled it around.  The technique was really impressive, but I think my image was too small and too detailed to get the same effect.  I still like the way it came out though.

Here is a detailed look of just the flower:

I did stamp the flower onto Watercolor paper with Clear Pigment ink and White Embossing powder.  The flower stamp is from the Cottage Bouquet stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey.

My project, is the same idea as my card, just as a tag, so I can add it to a gift for mom for Mother's Day.

Here is another view of the tag.

The Black Licorice Sparkle tape is from Fun Stampers Journey.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment and then don’t forget to go to the next hopper to continue hopping along.

Birdhouse and Flower centers: E27, E25, E49
Bird, Shirt and Ribbon on the Hat: B02, B00, B000
Yellow Flowers: Y15, Y13, Y11

Hair: E59, E47, E44
Pink Flowers: R83, R81
Purple Flowers: V15, V12

Bitten by the Bug Challenge- Anything but a Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I am so excited to share with you my new project for the new challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2- Anything but a Card.

Dreaming Tree is full of great projects and this was one I had my eye on and had to make it.

I created this teapot using the paper pad from Michael's named Dark Botanicals.

Here is a closer look at the rhinestones I added to the bottom and top of the teapot.

The teapot has a top and it also includes pieces of vellum.

The real surprise is when you place a flameless votive in the bottom of the teapot and light it up at night.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.  Then come join the challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2, where the theme is anything goes but not a card.

I designed in Cricut Design space to print the lettering and then to cut the teapot out.

Here is what they looked like on the table.

I was very happy with the way they came out.

Cottage Daisy Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I want to share a very simple card I designed and created for a friend to give to a friend.

The background or card base is Rustic Rose Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey with a laser cut die cut from Stampin' Up that a friend gave me.
I then stamped and die cut the daisies and bow from Whip Cream, Kiwi Slice and Rustic Rose Cardstock and paper pieced them together.  I added them to the card using foam squares.

Stamp set, dies and ink are from Fun Stampers Journey

Simple but elegant, exactly what she wanted.

Hello Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

Well, school is officially started and I have had no time to craft.  I hope to get back on schedule and be able to get back to crafting.

Today I want to share a card I created for my August Card Class.

This was a no stamping card.

The card should have no white background and be able to see through the card, but after asking my mom what she thought, she thought that it needed a piece of white card stock behind the acetate so when you write a message you won't see it from the front.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey and can be purchased here.

Fabulous Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I can not believe that we are in August already and that means that I am going back to work soon.  I have had a jammed packed summer, so maybe it is a good thing?  I will be able to get back to a regular routine and getting back to a normal schedule.

Today I have a card to share that I recently created with an image that I colored maybe a year ago.

I had fun coloring this image with my Copics.

The card was created using Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey, pattern paper from Authentique, Sparkle Washi tape from Fun Stampers Journey and a paper doily I had in my stash.

The sentiment is from Text Happy from Fun Stampers Journey.

6/19/19

 Hello Crafty Friends,

I can not believe it is time for challenge #194 at Crafty Gals Corner.  This month it is polka dots and stripes.

I received the chance to play with this quote from Coco Chanel, which inspired the card I created.

When I read the quote, I knew I had to have pearls on my card as well as a well dressed lady.  I think I did this quite well.
My polka dots are the pearls, as well as the dress of the lady on the right.  My stripes are the pattern paper on the card base.

Now it is your turn.  Make a card with polka dots and stripes and come join us at Crafty Gals Corner.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Fun Stampers Journey
Paper with ladies: Bo Bunny
Stripe paper: from my stash
Pearls: Liquid Pearls by Ranger
