Crafty Gals Corner Challenge # 278- Anything Goes with a Twist- Sweets for Dad

Hello Crafty Friends,

Summer is upon us and the weather to match is here in Southern California.  I am not a summer girl, but love the break from teaching.  I fill my summer days with relaxing, crafting and sleeping.  This summer will be no different.

Today we have a new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner- Anything goes with a twist- Sweets for Dad.  Summer always starts with celebrating our Father's and sweets for my dad is about all he wants.

Here is the card I created using a shaped die from Sizzix.

I first created the base of the donut using cardstock from my stash.  I layered the "frosting" on with dimension to build the layers up.  I then added sprinkles using Stickles in yellow, blue and green.  I then stamped and die cut the letters from the Outline Bet Die Set from Fun Stampers Journey on yellow cardstock.  I added these to the card using dimensions too.

The inside of the card, I added the sentiment from the Annual Celebration, also for Fun Stampers Journey.

I think my dad will love this card.   Now, we would love to see what you create.  Create a new project and maybe put the twist on it and then share it with us over at Crafty Gals Corner.

Also, please leave me a comment, letting me know your thoughts on my "paper" donut.

***Just as a reminder, the Crafty Gals Corner design team will be taking the month of July off, but we will be back with a new challenge in August.  Have a very crafty summer!

Crafty Gals Corner- Challenge #264 Fill in the blank- Pink ________

 Hello Crafty Friends,

It has been a month since I last posted and life has been busy.  I can not believe it is the second month of the year.  Where is the time going?  It is going by fast.

We have a new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner this month called "Fill in the blank; Pink______".  I received this adorable image from LeAnn's World 101 entitled "Abigail" to color.

I knew exactly what color I was going to use to make her beautiful.  Of course- Pink!

Here is the card I created:

I colored the image with my Copic Markers.

Skin E04, E11, E21, E00

Hair: E29, E25, E21

Dress: RV34, RV32, RV11

Eyes: B23, B21

The card base was created with some pink cardstock, pattern paper from Doodlebug's Gingerbread Kisses line and some die cuts from Fun Stampers Journey.

The sentiment is from Scrapbook.com's enchanted forest collection and stamped with black ink.

To finish the card I added a few pink pearls from Pink and Main.

Mix it Up Challenge Blog- Inlaid Die Cut Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Mix it Up Challenge blog and when I heard the theme, I knew exactly what die I wanted to use.  The challenge this month is Inlaid Die Cut either raised of flat.  I pulled out this old die set from Fun Stampers Journey and went to work.

Yes, this card too some time, but the results are stunning and the recipient will appreciate it.

Here is how I created this card.  I first cut the card front pieces in grey, blue, green and pink. I added sticker paper to each one. I then die cut the card front piece 4 times.  Then the fun began.

I took the grey piece and attached it to a piece of copier paper. I then took the pieces from the other card fronts and laid them into where the color should be.  Each individual piece.  I love the way it turned out.

I finished the card by adding a label die cut with my sentiment on it with a strip of white cardstock underneath to the card front.

Thank you for stopping by. Please join the challenge st Mix it Up Challenge Blog and leave me a comment as well.

Love to Craft Challenge- Anything Goes

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today at Love to Craft Challenge Blog we have a new month. I don't know about you, but I am ready for summer to be over, but before we bid it a farewell, I want to share a card I created for a Tropical theme swap I was involved in recently.

I created the base of the card using pattern paper from Recollections.  I then stamped the images from Fun Stampers Journey (retired) with green ink for the leaves and a light grey for the flowers.  I die cut them out with the matching die set.

After the flowers were cut out, I added some yellow and orange ink to the middle of the flowers to match the ones in the pattern paper.  The sentiment from Doodlebug Designs was stamped with black ink.

Thank you for stopping by,  Please leave me a comment. Then join the challenge at Love to Craft Challenge blog where we always have an anything goes theme.

Bitten by the Bug 2 in Collaboration with Double Trouble Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

The challenge for the next two weeks on Bitten by the Bug 2 is a collaboration with Double Trouble Challenge Blog.  The theme is baby, so I wanted to make this adorable onesie box from My Scrap Chick.

I used cardstock from my stash and pattern paper from Fun Stampers Journey's Good Life collection.

I cut everything out with my Cricut and then created the box first.

I then put the little vest and tie on to the top using foam squares.  For an added dimension, I added some blue buttons from my stash.

I finished the box off by adding stitched lines with a white pen around the edges.

The box is a nice size and would be perfect for a small gift or candy.

Now it is your turn.  Check out the information on Bitten by the Bug 2 and create your own Baby project and share it with us.

Stampin Friends Blog Hop- Monochromatic March

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop.  This month and the theme is Birthday Celebration. If you are following along the hop, you should have arrived from Maureen Rauchfuss' blog.  Make sure to read through my blog, comment below and then continue to Jo Blackman's blog.

If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each blog.

Here are the projects I created for our Monochromatic March theme.

If you know me, you know I love pink, so of course I would pick pink for my Monochromatic color.

I used 2 different pieces of pink cardstock from my stash to create the card base.  I then stamped the flower from Cottage Bouquet stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey (retired) with pink ink.  I then stamped one whole flower on another piece of pick cardstock.

I added some pink satin ribbon to the left side of the card and to add interest I tied some pink bakers twine around sections of the ribbon.

I finished the card by stamping the sentiment from the same stamp set and added some pink pearls to the card front.

For my project, I wanted to create a small little box to match the card.  So I pulled out my small milk carton die.

I can't wait to fill this little box and give it to a friend.  I used the same supplies as above, but used grey ink on white cardstock for the flower I placed on the top.  I attached the flower to the box by wrapping some pink bakers twine around the top of the box and tying the flower in.

Here are the card and box together.

Aren't they cute together?  I hope it brings a smile to my friend who receives it.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment and then check out all the other incredible projects from the other ladies this month.
