Hello Crafty Friends,

I am having so much fun crafting lately.  I have some new projects coming soon to my blog, so check back often.

Today I want to share with you my absolute favorite card from my July Card Class.

This was a fun new technique that I had to try.
I first started with a piece of Butter Cream Cardstock that I embossed with the Layered Scallops Embossing Folder.  I then took Catalina Splash, Lovely Blue and Lavender Fusion Liquid Colors and mixed a little bit of water to them on a block.  Using a Blender Pen, I added the colors randomly to the piece of Cardstock.  That's it.  Pretty cool effect?

I then layered the card and stamped the shell from Beach Treasures Stamp Set.  I colored it lightly with a brown Journey Color Burst pencil and then brushed on a little Sparkle Silk over the top.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Beach Treasures, Cottage Bouquet
Paper: Butter Cream Cardstock, Pretty Amethyst Cardstock, Pool Play Cardstock
Ink: Hazelnut Blend, Catalina Splash
Liquid Color: Catalina Splash, Lovely Blue , Lavender Fusion
Silk: Beach Ball, Sparkle, Bubble Gum
Dies: Beach Treasures, Journey Circles
Tools: Blender Pen, Corner Rounder
Embossing Folder: Layered Scallops
Accessories: Pool Play Sparkle Tape, Pearls

This month's theme was Fall.  This is my favorite season because of the colors.  I couldn't wait to get started.
First, I would like to share my card I created.

I created this card using the Harvest Wreath and Autumn Days stamp sets.  The leaves were stamped with Clear Pigment Ink and then colored with Pan Pastels.  The background was created using the words from the Harvest Wreath Stamp set, stamping on the right side of the card with different colors.
I had so much fun created the card, that I decided to create a scrapbook page too.

The leaves on the right hand side of the page, I created using the Gel Press.  I first added Pomegranate Splash ink to the Gel press.  Then I dropped a few drops of Citrus Cooler and Dark Roast.  I then used the Brayer to "spread" the colors around.  I then pulled a print.  I used this print to stamp the leaves and cut them out.
I am in love with this scrapbook page.  I am so in love that I will be teaching a class on this layout in November.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Harvest Wreath, Autumn Days
Paper: Tangerine Fusion Cardstock, Hazelnut Blend Cardstock, Fall Fest Pattern Paper, Butter Cream Cardstock, Oatmeal Cookie Cardstock
Ink: Hazelnut Blend, Pomegranate Splash, Tangerine Fusion, Clear Pigment
Silk: Citrus Cooler, Dark Roast
Dies: Border Basics, Notebook Page
Pan Pastels:  Rich Sorbet, Mother Nature
Accessories: Tangerine Fusion Gingham Ribbon, Oatmeal Cookie Satin Ribbon, Natural Journey Twine
Tools: Gel Press, Brayer

Journey Blog Hoppers- Holidays

Welcome to the Amazing Journey Blog Hoppers Hop!  This month's theme is Holidays  I'm so happy you're hoppin' along!  If you arrived from Ruth Cooper blog, you're on the right track.  If not, that's ok too!  Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!

http://www.sassyangelsstudio.com/be-amazing-blog-hop/

Now, let's get to my projects. First the card.
I started with a piece of Cool Pool cardstock for the base.  Using Clear Pigment ink, Journey White embossing powder and Snow Burst stamp set, I created the background.
I die cut a few piece of Bloom Clusters from Journey Brush Silver Cardstock.
Then I started making layers with a Whip Cream cardstock Border Details, a piece of Vintage Lace and Be Cool Journey Tape.  I then added a Snowflake Element, a wooden snowflake (past Bloom Benefit) and a Twinkle Trim bow tied with Whip Cream Thread.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment from Winter Holiday with River Stone ink on Whip Cream Cardstock.

Now for the project.
I created an 11 x 14 canvas to match the card.
I started the canvas by painting it with Cool Pool Acrylic Paint and used Journey Modeling Paste and the Winter Wonderland stencil.

I let it dry overnight and then rubbed some Silver PanPastel over the top and then sprayed Shimmer Silver Color Splash over that.

I then started layering with Border Details from Whip Cream Cardstock, Vintage Lace and Cool Pool Satin Ribbon.  I then added the same layers as the card.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you are inspired by my creations.  Please don't forget to click the Next button to continue on the hop with Crissy Salima Rivas blog.

I like Big cups....

Today's card is a little mixed media, but I love the results!
The base of the card is Oatmeal Cookie Cardstock.  I then cut a layer of Cocoa Powder Cardstock.  On this piece, I used the Rings Stack Stencil and Journey Modeling Paste to create the background.  When it was fully dry (I usually let pieces dry over night), I took Rich Sorbet PanPastels and colored the modeling paste.  I tied a Oatmeal Cookie Satin Ribbon bow around the piece and adhered it to the card base.
Next, I die cut a Journey Circle from Buttercream Cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Hey Sugar set with Cocoa Powder Ink.
To finish the card, I added a few Spring Accent Dots.  Enjoy!

Faith Friday 8/19/16

Today is Faith Friday and I have a Bible Journaling project to share with you today.
I chose to journal John 1:5, using the the set Delightful Light.  I stamped the light bulb and the sentiment from God is Light set on the page with Black Licorice ink.
I then used the Summer Days PanPastels from the Rich Sorbet PanPastel palette to color the light bulb and "shine" the light over the page.
I used a colored pencil to color in the cord.  I then added some Silver Silk to the filigree and the top of the bulb.  Enjoy!

Faith Friday #3

Today is Faith Friday and that means a new faith based project.  Today I want to share another page in my Bible.
Here is a closer look
I used Rich Sorbet PanPastels for the background and the sand.  I used Denim Days ink to stamp the anchor and the sentiment.  I drew the rope in my hand and colored it with colored pencils.
I added the waves using colored pencils.  I love the way it came out.  Enjoy!

Faith Friday #2

Today is Faith Friday and that means I have another Faith based project to share.
For a few months I have been researching the whole idea of Bible Journaling.  I knew I didn't want to do this type of artwork in my regular, everyday study Bible, so I started researching Bibles.  I looked at Bibles online and decided which type I would need.  I then bought my first journaling Bible.
With all that said, I finally bought the Bible and was ready to get started.  Not quite yet!  Something held me back from actually putting ink on to the pages.
I then attended the Fun Stampers Journey Convention and I knew why I had not started yet.  Little did I know that the things that Richard had put in the brand new Inspiration Book and Catalog was exactly what I needed.
So, a few weeks later, I have my first Bible Journaling page done.  Using my absolute favorite set of stamps and PanPastels, I created a work of art.  I am so in love with the way it turned out.  Here it is:
So I used the four sets from the Slice of Life Collection and Black Licorice ink to stamp the fruit.  I then used the masking technique to get the fruit to look like they were behind and in front of each other.    I used the PanPastels in the Rich Sorbet pallette to create the blue background.  I used a combination of colored pencils and PanPastels to color the fruit.
Here is a closer look at what the fruit looks like:
Lastly, I wrote in the Fruits of the Spirit, one on each piece of fruit.
I have lots of ideas in my head, so please check back next Friday for another Faith based piece.  Enjoy!

CYCI #129 Color Challenge

Hello!  Today we get to play with some of my favorite colors, Pink and Blue.  The challenge this week at Can You Case it? Is a Color Challenge:
http://canyoucaseit.com/?p=3309

Here is the card I created:
I created the panel for the front of the card using Whip Cream Cardstock.  I stamped the Branch ATS with Clear Pigment ink and then used Journey Black Embossing powder.
Next, I took the Rich Sorbet PanPastels and used the blue and pink colors to create the background, working in circular motion and blending in the middle.
I then took a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock and stamped the sentiment from Ampersand Notes in Denim Days ink.
To finish the card, I added a Paper Clip to the card and tied a Black Licorice Twine bow.  Enjoy!

Christmas in July- Journey Blog Hoppers

Hello and thanks for stopping by.   Welcome to our Fun Stampers Journey Blog Hoppers "Christmas in July " Blog Hop!
I'm so happy you're hoppin' along! If you arrived here from Ruth Cooper's blog, you're on the right track. If not, that's ok too! Just continue the hop and you'll come full circle!
Christmas is my favorite holiday.  I couldn't resist being a part of this Hop this month.  Here is the card I created:

The card base is Whip Cream Cardstock.  I then took a piece of Cranberry Bliss Cardstock cut at 5 x 4 and distressed the edges with my scissors.

I then cut a piece of Cool Pool Cardstock at 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 and used the Winter Wonderland Stencil and Journey Modeling Paste to create the first layer of my background.  After, I let it dry overnight, I splattered some Cool Pool Silk over the top.  Then I took my Silver PanPastel and rubbed a light coat over the whole piece.
I added the two layers to the card and tied a Cool Pool Satin Ribbon Bow around the card.  I then tied a Holiday Cord bow on top.
The Christmas Tree is from the new Christmas Trim ATS from the Holiday Catalog.  I stamped it on Whip Cream Cardstock with Black Licorice ink.  I then colored some of the "ornaments" with Cranberry Bliss Silk and Rhinestones.
I added the tree to the card using foam squares.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Trim, with Cranberry Bliss ink on Whip Cream Cardstock.  I  distress the edges with the scissors, then took some more of the Silver PanPastel to the top of this piece.  I adhered this piece to the card using the Journey Stapler.  Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by.  Now, hop on over to Betsye's blog and continue the hop.  If you get lost, here is the list of blogs in the hop:
