Love to Craft Challenge Blog- Anything goes

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is a new month and a new challenge at Love to Craft Challenge blog.  The challenge is always anything goes, we just want to see what you are creating.

I recently attended a retreat with crafty ladies.  We have been attending this retreat for 10 years, so the theme was decades.  We all swapped cards from different decades.  I knew immediately what stamp set I wanted to use, the Golden Age by Kindred Stamps and specifically Lucy.

Here is the card I created

I colored up the Lucy stamp with my Copics

Skin: E11, E21, E50

Hair: E18, E09, YR09

Dress/Shoes: B26, B23, B21

The tv die is from Kindred Stamps which I die cut from brown and grey cardstock.  The "picture" on the tv is an image of the logo from the show that I printed on my computer.

I die cut the red scalloped background from Waffle Flower and finished the card with jewels from Queen and Company,

I love the way the card came out and it was a hit at the retreat.

Please leave me a comment and then share one of your projects with us at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog- Anything Goes

Hello Crafty Friends,

I am so excited to be joining the Merry Little Christmas Design Team as well.  I love all things Christmas, so being able to create Christmas cards throughout the year will be so much fun.

So let's get started with my first Christmas card in July...

This card was created using the Holiday Jars die set from Queen and Company. I bought the kit last year and I am just getting around to use it.

Everything on the card was included in the kit, except the scallop die I used for behind the jar (Fun Stampers Journey-retired) and the white card stock for the scallop and the sentiment strip.  I used some "faux" snow from Dollar Tree to put in the jar.

I love making shakers and Christmas is a great reason to make cute shaker cards.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Then, join us at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog and share your Christmas cards.

Mix it Up Challenge Blog- Twist: Clean and Simple

 Hello Crafty friends,

I am so excited to be on the design team for Mix it Up!  This is a new design team for me, but I am looking forward to sharing my designs with you where.

This month's theme is Anything Goes with the twist: Clean and Simple.

Here is the card that I created, which to me is clean and simple.

I used some pattern paper from my stash to create the background of my card. I then stamped the deer (retired stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey) onto white cardstock using a brown ink.

I matted this image piece on a piece of brown cardstock and tied a brown twine knot around the whole piece.

I finished the cars by die cutting the letters HB from brown cardstock using the alphabet die set from Queen and Company.

A clean and simple Masculine card for a man who is celebrating a birthday.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Then head over to Mix it Up Challenge Blog and share your clean and simple card.

Simply Create Too- Sentiment as the Main Focus

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new challenge at Simply Create Too where the sentiment needs to be the main focus.  This challenge was a struggle for me, but once I got my Queen and Company stacked sentiments, I knew exactly what I was going to do.

The card base was done with white cardstock and pattern paper from Doodlebug Designs.  I then wrapped some red and white baker's twine around the top layer.

I then die cut the sentiment from Glitter Fun Foam and White cardstock and layered them.  I then added them to the card front in a pattern.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment and then join the challenge at Simply Create Too Challenge Blog.

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge- For the Ladies

 Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope your May is going great so far.  We have a new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner and it is all about the ladies.  Our sponsor this month is Moonflower digistamps.

I was lucky enough to get to play with this darling stamp called "Lily the White Queen".

I tried a new color combo on her dress.

Dress and Crown: R59, R56, RV34, R81

Skin: Ell, E21, E51, E50

Hair: E99, YR24, YR23

Flowers: BV34, BV31

Leaves: YG13, YG11

The pattern paper is from Frank Garcia's Wild and Free collection.  The sentiment is from Queen and Company.  When the card was all complete, I used Wink of Stella on her ruffles and crown.

Here is a closer look at her:

Now it is your turn.  Create something "For the Ladies" and share it with us at Crafty Gals Corner.

Celebrate You Birthday Card

 Hello Crafty Friends,

I have a fun fold card to share with you today.  I love the layers of this card and the layout is perfect for a man or woman.

Folded it looks like a regular A2 card.  But when you open it up, it can stand on it's own.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey, except the die I used to cut out the word celebrate.  It was from Queen and Company.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Thankful Card

 Hello Crafty Friends,

It is the day before Thanksgiving and it is always the day to think about all the things you have that you are thankful for.  This year has been like no other, but there is always something to be thankful for.

The card base is cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey and blocks of pattern paper from Doodlebug Designs.  I then cut the sentiment from Queen and Company out of Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey and glitter fun foam from Michael's.

Super simple card, but oh so cute.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Crafty Gals Corner- Thankful and Thank You

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner: Thank yous and Thankful.   I had fun playing with this image from Fred, She Said Digital Designs.

I colored the image using my Copics.

Pumpkins: YR27, YR68, YR15

Leaves: G99, G94, YG03

Sunflowers: Y38, Y19, Y15

Stems: E27, E25

I then used some pattern paper from Frank Garcia, Amber Moon collection and cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey for the card base.  I used the die set from Queen and Company for the word Blessed.  I die cut the back ground with cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey and the word itself from glitter fun foam.  I love the dimension it adds.

To finish the card, I added a piece of Pumpkin Patch Ribbon from Fun Stampers Journey around the card and added a sweet premade bow from Fun Stampers Journey.

I hope you will create a thank you or thankful card and join the challenge at Crafty Gals Corner.

Also, thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Get Creative Challenge- Use Hearts

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today we have a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges.   The theme is Use Hearts and we got to use the digital stamp from Charlie's Stamps.

I had so much fun coloring this image.

I colored the image with my Copic Markers:
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Lips: R85, R83
Skin: E13, E11, E00, E000
Shirt: BG18, BG15, BG13
Cat: E57, E35, E34

I then used a card foam kit from Queen and Company.  I added some sequins that I had in my stash.
I cut a piece of pattern paper from Me and My Big Ideas for the top of the card and a strip across the bottom from the same pattern pad.
I then added some heart die cuts in the corners that I had in my stash.

I hope you will join the challenge at Get Creative Challenge Blog.

Holiday Wishes

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a simple but cute card.  This card would be easy to duplicate in a hurry.

I thought this die set from Fun Stampers Journey went perfect with this pattern paper from Michael's.   The trees were dies cut from the different colors of cardstock.  Before pulling the pieces out, I placed foam squares on the back and then pulled them out.  You can see that the red one didn't keep the pieces inside, but the other two came out great.

The cardstock is from Fun Stampers Journey.

I then used the sentiment from Queen and Company's Sentiment Stacker set.

Love to Craft Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today is the first of the month and you know what that means; we have a new challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Here is the card I created for this month.

I got the "Thankful" dies at the Scrapbook Expo, and I had to play with them right away.
I created the card using cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey and pattern paper from Reminisce.
I stamped the pumpkins from Cardstock and layered them on the card.
The sentiment stamps and dies are from Queen and Company.  I die cut the background from Gold Glitter Foam and White Cardstock.

I am very thankful this season and this card is a great way to show it.

With Sympathy

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are having a great day.  Today I would like to share a Sympathy card.  Sometimes these are the hardest cards to create.

I tried something new on this card.  I used the Sentiment Stacks dies from Queen and Company and some Fun Foam.
The sentiment was first cut with the Purple Fun Foam for the background and then I die cut the words from Whip Cream Cardstock.  I then layered them.  I love the way it looks, but also it gives dimension at the same time.
The succulent on the card was a new technique to me.  I inked up the stamp with Fresh Sage and then took a dauber and sponged a little bit of Lavendar Fusion to the leaves.  Then a stamped the image on Whip Cream Cardstock.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey except the sentiments.

Celebrate Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are doing well whereever you are.  There is some crazy weather all over right now.  Here in Southern California we have been having a heat wave.  It has been too hot to do anything else but stay in and craft.  I am not mad!

Today I want to share with you a fun birthday card we made at my August card classes.

Here is what I used:
Pattern Paper and Cardstock: Fun Stampers Journey
Scallop Die: Fun Stampers Journey
Ice Cream Cone stamp and dies: Doodlebug Designs
It's Your Day Stamp: Queen and Co.
Celebrate die: Queen and Co.

I am loving the new dies from Queen and Company called Sentiment Stackers.  I can't wait to use them more.
The technique I used for this card was the kissing technique on the frosting and cone.
The kissing technique is when you take a silhouette stamp, ink it up and stamp it with a pattern stamp before stamping it on your paper.  For the frosting I used Thread Sketch and the cone, Canvas Print.

All Fun Stampers Journey supplies can be purchased here.
