Washi Tape Background Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

New month means a new challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

I created a card recently for a Washi Tape swap.  The requirements were to create a card using Washi tape.  I had this washi tape and I thought...Sunset!

I then had these cute images that were given to me that I thought were perfect for the card and I colored them with my Copics.

Bluebird:B06, B04, B02, YR68

Toucan: V9, V6, Y17, Y15, Y68

I then stamped the sentiment from a set I borrowed from a friend and did not get the name.

I had fun creating this card.

Now it is your turn.  Create something and share it with us at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Simply Create Too- Wet or Dry Embossing Challenge

 Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Simply Create Too!  The challenge this month is wet or dry embossing.  I tried a new technique to me, and I hope you like it.

This is a very easy card, but I love the way it turned out,

I first took a few different green rolls of washi tape that I had in my stash and I placed them on a piece of White Cardstock.  I then wrapped the ends around the card face.

I then used an embossing folder with leaves on it and ran the whole card front through my machine using the embossing folder.

I then used foam squares to attach the panel to the card base.

Lastly, I die cut the words from an Impression Obsession die and added it to the card base.

That is it. Quick and easy and you could easily do the same technique with scraps of paper or cardstock.

Now let's see your creations.  Create something with wet or dry embossing and join the challenge at Simply Create Too.

Get Creative Challenge Blog: Anything Goes with a Pink or Red Twist

Hello Crafty Friends,

We have a new challenge at Get Creative Challenge Blog and the theme this month is Anything Goes with a Pink or Red Twist.  I received this adorable image from:

This Virtual Bear Hug image is too cute and perfect for the times we are in and the season of the month, with Valentine's Day.

I started the card base with Whip Cream and Bubble Gum Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.  I then layered a piece of Authentique pattern paper.  The pink solid strip across the bottom was actually the strip on the piece of pattern paper that most people cut off. I liked it for another color added to the bottom of the card.

I added some washi from my stash to the bottom and the top of the paper piece, wrapping the tails around the card front.  I then tied the white organza ribbon around the card front and tied a knot.

I then colored the bear with my Copics.

Bear: E29, E27, E23

Bow: RV17, RV34

Heart: R56, R37, R35

I added the fluffy bear texture to the bear by tapping my colorless blender on the colored areas.

I then die cut this finished image with Journey Oval die set from Fun Stampers Journey and added the image to the card using foam squares.

To finish the card, I added the red heart embellishment from Authentique, included with the paper pad I used for the card.

Happy Love Day

Hello Crafty Friends,

Do you have washi tape in your stash?  Do you hoard it like I do.  I have a card to share with you that I created using some of my stash.

I started by wrapping strips of washi tape around a piece of cardstock.  I then took another piece of cardstock and die cut the three hearts out of the card panel and embosses the layer with the I Heart Embossing Folder.
I stamped the sentiment from a stamp set from Spellbinders with Black Licorice ink and matted them on Rich Coral Cardstock.  I adhered these to the card with foam squares.
I then placed the card panel on a piece of Rich Coral Cardstock and then onto the Card base.

Cardstock, embossing folder, dies and ink is from Fun Stampers Journey.

Sentiment: Spellbinders

Kindred Stamps- Cute Kids

Hello Crafty Friends,

I wanted to share a card I created a long time ago, but did not share.  I created this for a swap and the card actually went to England.

I love these little cuties.
I created the card using one of the cards from the Simple Stories Say Cheese paper line as my background.  I then added some washi tape to the bottom and used baker's twine to tie a bow.   I added a little "Mickey" jewel in the corner.
I colored the cuties with my Copics.

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is June already?  How can it be.   Well, with a new month comes a new challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Today I want to share a card holder I made with the Card Carrier Die from Fun Stampers Journey.

The carrier was made with Watermelon Fusion Cardstock.   I then added all the details.

The pattern paper is from the Playful Prints Prints and then a placed some Botanical Washi Tape and Silver Sparkle Washi Tape.
I then stamped the flamingo from the Tinkled Pink stamp set on Bubble Gum Cardstock.  I fussy cut the flamingo out and added it to the Journey Oval I had cut from Whip Cream Cardstock.

I added some depth to the flamingo, but adding some black pencil lines to the bottoms of the wings.

Then I stamped and fussy cut the leaves and trunk of the palm tree from Oatmeal Cookie and Limeade Splash Cardstock.

All the supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey and can be purchased here.

11/29/18

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are having a great week.  Can you believe it is almost the end of November?  Where has the month gone?  We are getting closer and closer to Christmas and the most wonderful time of the year.

Today I want to share a card with you that was a hit at my last card class and I think it was because of this cute little deer.

I made the candy cane background using the Stripe Band Die from Fun Stampers Journey and die cut from Cranberry Bliss Cardstock and layered it over a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock.

I attached the strip to the card with a little bit of glue and then used the Happy Holidays Washi Tape to the edges to help hold it down.  The deer is popped up over the die as well, helping to hold it on.

Supplies Used:  You can get the supplies here.
Stamp: Merry Everything from Fun Stampers Journey
Cardstock: Fun Stampers Journey
Washi Tape: Recollections
Twine: Fun Stampers Journey

Let it snow, let it snow, let is snow

Hello Crafty friends,

Christmas is over for another year and now we can start looking forward to the new year.  I have always wanted a white Christmas, but living in Southern California, we do not get those.
I can always dream right?
Today's card is for that dream.
This is a fun technique.  First you stamp the snowflakes onto the paper using Clear Pigment ink.  Then you take the light blue PanPastel from the Party Pop set and a soft tool and rub it over the whole piece of paper.  The snowflakes come to life.  Add the sentiment, some sparkle tape and some rhinestones and you have very simple and easy card.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Snow Burst
Paper: Beach Breeze Cardstock, Whip Cream Cardstock
Ink: Clear Pigment, Beach Breeze
PanPastels: Party Pop
Accessories: Rhinestones, Pool Play Sparkle Tape, Whip Cream Sparkle Tape

I then stamped my sentiment on top.

Washi Tape Wednesday 6/28/17

Hello Crafty friends,
I hope you are having a great day.  Today I want to share with you a card I made using some of the 2 inch washi tape that Fun Stampers Journey sells.

I started the card, by using a piece of Whip Cream Cardstock measuring at 5 3/8 x 4 1/8.  I then took the Mother Nature washi tape and placed a strip on either side of the cardstock.  There will be a strip in the middle that does not get covered.  That is ok.  That is where I wrapped a piece of Pineapple Smoothie Gingham ribbon around and tied a bow.  That is how easy it is to create a very simple background paper.
Fun Stampers Journey has five more choices of 2 inch washi tape.  You can check it our here.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Happy Sentiments
Paper: Whip Cream Cardstock, Pineapple Smoothie Cardstock, Watermelon Fusion Cardstock
Ink: Black Licorice
Ribbon: Pineapple Smoothie Gingham Ribbon
Accessories: Rainbow Drops
Tools: Summer Pretties Punch

Washi Tape Flowers

Today I have a card to share that includes one of my favorite things, washi tape.
I started the card by adding stripes of Bright Day Journey washi tape to a post it note.
I then took the post it note and adhered it to the base of the card.
The base of the card was created with Pool Play cardstock.  I then cut a piece of Pool Play cardstock slightly smaller and die cut a Flower Layer from the piece.
Before placing this piece on the card, I splattered some Bubble Gum, Cool Pool and Silver Silk to the card.
I then added a Whip Cream banner that I stamped with the sentiment from Greet & Shout in River Stone ink.
To finish the card, I tied a Bubble Gum Satin Ribbon into a bow.  Enjoy!
