Kit of the Month June Card

I have another wonderful card to share today.  I am loving this set with the hot air balloons.
The card in itself is very simple, but all together makes a great and unique card.  Changing the "Greetings" to another stamp like "Congrats" and you now have a cute graduation card.  I am loving this set!

Kit of the Month June Card #2

Today I want to share with you the second card in the Kit of the Month for June!  I love hot air balloons, so this one is going to a favorite.  Here is the card:
This card is a regular card, with an opening on the right side.  The colors are Blue Lagoon and Pineapple Smoothie.  Using the Journey Glaze and Journey Sparkle Dust on the popped up clouds makes the clouds have more depth.  I love Journey Glaze and how it adds to the design of the card you are making.  Enjoy!

Floral Altered Box

Every time I spend time with my crafty friends, I always get inspired to be creative.  Today was no different.  I had started the paper covering part of the box previously.  Today I finished it.
The paper and embellishments came from the Lost and Found collection from My Mind's Eye.
This is the top of the box.  I love birds, so I had to bling out the bird cage.  I also tried something new.  I created a flower using a zipper.  The zipper came off the roll pretty curly, so making the flower was easy.  Here is a closer look at the zipper flower.
The inside of the box was covered with another pattern piece of paper from the same line.  I liked the scalloped ends of the paper, so I used it for the the sides of the inside.
The handle that was on the box was bamboo and I didn't think it went with my theme, so I changed the handle out for an off-white scalloped ribbon.  I really like the way it came out.  I hope you enjoy!

Coloring with Copics!

I was given a great opportunity this past weekend when I took a Copic coloring class from my friend and fellow Journey Coach, Nikki Turnour!  She was so patient with all of our questions and gave us some really great step by step instructions.  Here is a picture of the card that she taught us how to color.

I think this is going to be a great new adventure for me as I become better at coloring.  I am excited to get coloring on images that I have loved but have never bought them or never used them because I didn't know how to color the images to their perfection and worthiness.  I am ready to branch out on this adventure.

Pin up girl Card camp

This past week I was involved in a card camp with a pin up girl theme.  This is the card that I designed.  Every card that each of the 8 ladies made were completely different.  Not my favorite theme, but it was a great challenge.

Kit of the Month May Card#4

Here is the fourth and final card for the kit of the month by Fun Stampers Journey.
This card using a very cool technique.  You can take any piece of white paper and make it the color that you want.  The flowers were done using this technique.  I used the direct to paper technique to color the white paper with Pineapple Smoothie ink.  After that I stamped the flower with Blue Lagoon ink.  Cut out the flower and put Journey Glaze on top and your done.
